macOS Sierra Paperback – September 14, 2016

The only book worse or Mac help is Nick Vandome's MacBook in easy steps which was returned for credit, thank you Amazon for making it so easy. This book is missing a lot of info and is obviously written by someone that has a comprehensive understanding of computers in general and of Mac's. Problem is it is pretty much touted to be written for novice operators. My second attempt at getting help from the book was to eliminate "databases" inserted in my Mac Air by a half dozen websites against my wishes. The book contains no help. The index is misleading, incomprehensible, possibly because the book is devoid of so much basic info. I wish now I had returned this useless junk instead of allowing it to lay around past the 30 day return limit.I have no idea where to turn and wish somebody would offer me help.

The book is very detailed. Sometimes it is so detailed I forget what I was trying to do. I bought the Kindle version but should have bought the paper copy. It's hard to 'flip back' to look up something you forgot on the Kindle. And you can't mark items you want to remember on a Kindle. A highlighter is still a good tool!

Work needed a "Good Editor" to help organize, monitor the writing, and supplement the visuals. All-in-all, this was not a very helpful text to work with OS Sierra! Hope the publishing company finds a "better" work to publize!

Not so much an instruction manual as a quick reference guide. I would suggest this book to people who are already well-versed in Sierra or El Capitan.

I found this book to really shed light on all details of the new macOS Sierra, has to offer. In a fairly easy to understand.. You can use it as a quick Reference book or you can read it from front to back.. I'm HAPPY I bought it.. It's as GOOD as books costing 25-35% more....

As good of a instruction book on OS Sierra as you can ask for. !!! To bad I'm not smart enough to remember it all.!!! ( I keep it handy )

Good guide for newer Mac users but lacked some in depth references to various programs, good value for the price though.

just right for somebody moving from Windows to MacOS, not too technical. I was so pleased to see a Windows/Mac comparison table of words used to describe the elements of each system. There is a very comprehensive Index which makes this not only a good book just for browsing and getting a feel for MacOS but also a quick reference for when you need it. Some parts are very detailed and no doubt will be more useful as my understanding of the system improved, but for the moment, it's also an excellent introduction to an unfamiliar system.The book was secondhand but was in remarkably good condition, and arrived very quickly from World of Books.

Slightly disappointing. It does have a lot of information but it is very formally presented with minimal illustrations and very curt descriptions, making finding what you want more difficult than with other publishers books.

This Guide is proving to be very helpful for getting to grips with the latest Apple operating system. It need not be read every page following another, but can be dipped into for particular information. A good buy.

I rated this book with five stars, have not read complete book yet but what I have seen up to know as explained many short cuts to different programmes, a very helpful book if you have moved from windows to a mac explains how to create folders to filing them and loads more.
