Princess Spider: True Experiences of a Dominatrix

A friend of mine recommended this book to me, it's a good read if you are curious about what kind of life a dominatrix lives. It's only about one dominatrix though so there isn't much scope beyond the anecdotes of Princess Spider and her clients.

I would never believe that any book can be so extremely boring, dull and repetetive. I really don't know what else I could write about it. There are no interesting stories, no plots, no inspiration, absolutely nothing. Worst book I have ever read.

It is definitely boring and very very repetitive.She keep saying the same things and repeating the same concepts.

I guess old dominatrix dont retire they just write their story . There are some good factual bits here , for any one interested in how to be a domme , how the scene has changed , characters in London and a general warmth you dont find so much in the american books , however , and it is a big however ; I do agree with the more negative reviews too ; I do not warm to Spider ; she is so attractive , can cane the hardest , punish the best etc etc Plus she says how well she can write [ this book is not well written ] . Shame because at the end when she writes about her alter submissive side I do begin to find her interesting and not so one dimensional . Shame the editor didnt force her to write a better book . 6 strokes .

Where to begin? Then again where to end?! I honestly think I could continue voicing my dislike of this book for all of eternity and I could still find more to say! However as I am limited to a word count, I'll concentrate on the bits that REALLY annoyed me! Firstly it's Ms Spider herself; she is totally intolerable as adores herself to the extreme! Evidently she believe all the hype that her 'slaves' tell her to be absolutely true; she actually believes she's a princess - more fool her! With comments like "All the Masters just crowd round me and the other Dommes are jealous of me", "If someone wants the Quirt, they come to see me because I'm the best in the business" and my personal favourite, "I'm too pretty to be a Domme!" (the fact that she is actually working as a Dominatrix puts the kibosh in that one!) it's truly hard to like the woman. In fact, I don't think I've disliked someone that I've never met before quite as much as I do this woman...well maybe Nick Clegg but I digress! Then there's the whole way the book has been written with these irritating inserts from her slaves with 'Permission To Speak Slave NobodyCaresWhatYourNameIs', oh please give us a break! This book is not about life as a Dominatrix at all, it's about how wonderful Ms Spider thinks she is! Still, I could forgive her for all of the above; It's true! I could forgive her for being a self-absorbed, egotistical, narcissistic megalomaniac if it wasn't for the fact that evidently she has a total lack of care for the well-being and safety of her Clients. OK sure, being a totally self-absorbed, egotistical, narcissistic megalomaniac she is going to find it hard to genuinely care, but she has a professional responsibility and it is clear that she totally ignores this. One of her 'Slaves' describes how he was sentenced to 1000 lashes of the cane. That is insane, and totally crosses the line of what is safe! The club that it was being done at actually called a stop to it and I'm not surprised! I understand that different people have different pain thresholds and some people can take quite a few lashes but 1000 is completely out of order. People have died in real Judicial Punishments on less lashes than that. This book made angry reading. To summarise then: If you enjoy reading books written by self-absorbed, egotistical, narcissistic megalomaniacs then by all means go for it! If not then I'd avoid this like the plague...remember you can never unread something!

Don't waste your time and money on this book. It is very poorly written, extremely repetetive and therefore really really boring. I am quite surprised that such a book found a publisher. Don't expect any interesting stories, there are none! Plus the author is not the most famous dominatrix in the UK. This is a big lie. Most people who know the scene have never heard of her.

I thought it was an interesting insight into the world of a dominatrix. I couldn't finish the book though as it went a bit bizarre towards the end. She clearly is self obsessed and I thought it odd that she subbed. Diary of a Switch might have been more apt

From the cover it sounds like a great read but, once inside, it is badly written and very piecemeal. Made up of several different "voices" relating stories and experiences. Not in the least bit exciting or titillating. I wanted to skim read as fast as I could just to get to the end.

Fabulous read, gripping, funny, great tips for kink in the home, women will love this read,i could not put it down till I finished, a very talented lady...well worth the read, an education and erotic book
