toasty warm
We have several of these in different trucks. They definitely save our bacon. Have had a few problems, but all in all, it is a dependable product worth installing.

Replaced 4 times in a year!
I installed this heater in a sprinter van that my wife and I are full-timing in for a year. We've had to replace the heater 3 times all ready, and yesterday the fan motor burned out it's electrical supply. I can't recommend this heater. Also, the reviews that say it works fine at high altitude are either fake,or they haven't spent much time at higher altitude. These things carbon up so fast at high altitude that I carry a spare glow pin and screen with me at all times. On the plus side, at this point I can pull the heater out of the van, take it apart to service it, and reinstall it in a little more than an hour at this point, so good practice I guess.

Save your money. Not that great.
This heater kind of sucks. We bought it to install in our camper van and have had problems with it from the moment it was installed. It always has problems lighting the flame at the start which sends gas fumes in the air. It is never accurate on the temperature. It’s always off by 10 degrees which means that if you have it set for 70 degrees, it will not kick on until it is 58 degrees in the camper. To make it so it feels at least 70, I have to turn it to 80 degrees on the reader but because it’s set over 70, it overheats and then shuts down. If it runs for more than 2 hours, it will also over heat and shut down. And then sometimes the flame will go out when it is about to switch from idle mode to heat mode and then you get fumes coming up through the doors. We have tried to figure out how to fix these problems and have had no luck. The company is impossible to contact if you need help. Had to send an email and never responded. Overall, If you are going to by a diesel heater, save your money for something Of better quality because this heater sucks.

In depth review after a year of use in a conversion van. A decent heater, with some major flaws.
I installed this heater in my conversion van one year ago, and have lived with it full time for 11 months. I did a cold and snowy Lake Tahoe winter with it, running it for several hours a day for months at a time. I ended up going with this model over the name brand options due to the much lower price, despite not having much info on performance. Overall, it has worked well and I am happy with my choice. I have used it at high elevations (10k feet), low temperatures (below 0 F), and harsh, dusty conditions (the desert southwest, Baja Mexico). It sips diesel, and is so efficient that its fuel consumption isn't even noticeable. It seems well made, and works just as well today as it did a year ago (it is running in the background as I write this review). It is straightforward to install with a moderate understanding of electronics (doing the wiring properly), mechanics (dropping the gas tank and installing the tap), and general DIY skills. While there were a number of things that could have been better (the installation instructions are somewhat murky, the thermostat has a clunky UI, it is loud), I have three larger issues with it that bring my rating down to three stars. One, when I am using it in exceptionally cold conditions, it will throw an error code saying the outlet is overheating, and shut down. I think this could be mitigated by lengthening the ducting off the outlet, but I haven't tried that yet (and installed it according to the manufacturer's instructions, so it shouldn't be an issue in the first place). Also, because the unit immediately shuts down (instead of running through the cool down phase) it will overheat even worse than if it hadn't thrown a code. Two, the fan runs continuously when it is on, whether the heat is firing or not. This means you can't just leave it on in the background, and have it fire up when the temperatures drop. It is loud in general, but this is particularly irritating. It is not a pleasant sound like many fans, more of a grating drone that fluctuates as different electronics in the van turn on and off, and it doesn't really fade into the background. It is annoying enough that I turn the system off when it is not actively firing (which creates another issue, as this system draws a lot of power when starting up, see below). This could be fixed with a software tweak, but that is beyond my skill set. Install it as far away from your sleeping/living area as possible.Three, it draws considerably more power than described. The instruction booklet describes it drawing ~8.5a during the startup, and ~3a on the highest setting. I have seen it draw up to ~16a on startup, and hold ~8a when the fan is on high. At 200%+ energy consumption compared to manufacturer specs, this is a big deal. When it is warmed up and running on low it will only draw ~0.5a, but the times that it is running high are not insignificant. This is probably the most serious issue I have with it, as it will run my batteries down much faster than I had anticipated when building my solar system.Overall, if you are looking for a budget diesel heater for a van conversion, and are okay with a few drawbacks, this is a reliable and functional enough option. That being said, if and when this heater breaks down on me, I will be replacing it with an Espar.

Great price for a good heater.
I purchased the Snugger Heater kit due to the low cost compared to a few we’ll known brands. It was a tough choice, though overall I have been very happy. Quite easy to install and I have absolutely no experience with installing diesel heaters on vans. On our first heater test run, we slept in our van in 8 degrees F in Park City for 4 nights and we stayed toasty warm. It seriously sips diesel. It’s not even noticeable on our fuel economy. It has been a great unit and has never left us worried when we turn it on.The only issue we have had is the rubber fuel lines it comes with in the kit had all cracked after being installed for only 10 months. 3 dollar fix and 45 minutes swapping them out and it’s good as new.

Save your money and buy and Espar
Don't buy, save your money for an Espar. This thing is loud, it stops working after an hour and an error light comes on. Junk.
