About the Startup Describe your product in 3 words.Beautiful Thoughtful StrategyHow did you come up with the idea for this product?When we began our journey in 2012, we did not know where our little card game would take us. Initially, we had hoped to build something that could represent our skills and experience in job interviews as we picked up the pieces of our lives following the closure of Paragon Studios. Since that time, Vye has become so much more. It has become representative of persistence, vision, the fruits of hard work, and the joy of community.What makes your product special?Vye is one of those great games that can be played by anyone and will bring you closer together with friends and family in the playing.What has been the best part of your startup experience?When we launched our Kickstarter, we had no idea what was going to happen. We had done lots of research beforehand, contacted other Kickstarters to ask for their advice, sought the opinions of experts on anything from pledge levels to stretch goals, fulfillment, taxes, and delivery dates. When we launched, we knew the rollercoaster was just beginning, and we wanted to take everyone we knew with us. The first thing we did was call our friends and family, all of them, and ask them to back the game. This likely had a lot to do with our racing halfway to our goal of $9,000 in less than three hours. We always felt that Vye was something special, but when everyone started showing their support for the game, it was a feeling like none other - it was truly amazing.

Incredibly fun game that we consistently return to
Incredibly fun game that we consistently return to. We were introduced to it by Mox Boarding House games in Bellevue, and always return to play it again. It's a simple (yet complex) game that can be enjoyed by many players as an interesting strategy game with the most beautiful art I've ever seen.The wood blocks I did replace by going to Michaels and picking up gemstone beads because you definitely need better quality game pieces for such beautiful art.Game is easy to pick up, though some of the directions get a little ambiguous when you start playing with different card types (Fortress/Barracks/Catapult etc) but just find mutually agreeable ground and get playing!

we give this as a gift to practically everyone now
my wife has declared this her favorite game (and she's not really a gamer!). We played and slowly added cards until we knew them well enough to play them all. It's great and we find the rules are clear enough to work out even some of the tricky moments that the game can present. After many undereds of plays we're ready for an expansion - not a call we make for very many games =P

Great Game!!
Excellent game. I am playing it with my 11, 10, 8 and 6 year old kids. Easy to pick up - give the instructions a couple of reads first and start off with the basic level one game. There is an acre of game play once you start adding the additional rules above the basic level. The game cards are well made - like a good quality deck of ordinary cards. Phew!! I bought this for my 10 year old for Christmas and it could have been a disaster.

The rules are easy to learn and teach
This is an accessible, family-friendly, easy-to-learn game with surprisingly deep strategy. The rules are easy to learn and teach, and it looks and feels like a casual party game at first, but people quickly discover its many layers of strategy. Also, its small size makes it portable, and the art is beautiful. I bring this to basically every game night I go to.

Played the first edition with a friend that had backed the original Kickstarter. When I found the second edition on Amazon I had to buy it. Taught my family in a couple minutes, after the first game everyone was hooked, simple game but a lot of depth.
