Fantastic! Everyone would benefit from this superb book!
This book is a long-awaited triumph! Emmy approaches the topical subject of trauma and the inner critic in a thoroughly well-researched, professional and yet warm, friendly down-to-earth manner. Her profound experience shines through her words and inspires her reader to participate in this life-changing programme. A definite must read for anyone wanting to deeply understand themselves, heal their own trauma, become happier, improve their relationships, take control of their life and become the best version of themselves. It is also a superb handbook for professionals and, in my opinion, should be on every counsellor and psychotherapist’s bookshelf.Moira Dadd MA

Life changing! Do not hesitate to buy
I have read a LOT of self development books and this is my new favourite! It is written in such a soothing style and I really found the author so relatable. It’s a very reassuring read for anyone that has a horrible inner critic, self doubt or that has suffered any kind of trauma in the past. You will get a lot of comfort from reading this book and tonnes of practical advice to help resolve any negativity in your life. Do not hesitate to buy this book!

Not therapy: but a very helpful overview of the process
This really is a very good book, which I can see myself returning to time and again. It sets out a ten stage recovery process for recovering from trauma, backed by helpful exercises and models to apply. I suspect most of these stages could be books in and of themselves, so it feels sometimes as though we are covering lightly really important topics. I also wonder whether trying to take yourself through a therapeutic process without a professional therapist is wise. But nevertheless, for a brisk, helpful overview of the impact of trauma and what to do about it... this really is one of the best self-help books I have read, and I will return to it in more detail.

Inspiring read, buy it now
Such a great read. It’s rare to come across a book written in such a friendly and compassionate tone but that also has the knowledge and experience such as this author. The book is written in a clear and easy to understand format, broken down in to 11 steps with useful tools along the way. I cannot recommend this book enough. For the first time I feel really seen and Emmy has helped me to believe there is a way forwards.

So easy to read and to gain valuable insight and advice from.
Don’t hesitate to gift this book to yourself, your friends and loved ones! It strikes just the right balance (easy to read and understand, kind, insightful, practical advice) and is easy to pick and gain from even when time is short. We all have trauma of some kind and we owe it to ourselves to understand it and take steps to heal. This book is a brilliant tool for that.
