I have a 2007 chevy colorado i5 3.7 do i need 2 of this same sensor ? or doi need 2 different knock sensor's?

No manufacturer would put different knock sensors. There could be right and left units due to space issue, however, I haven't seen different units for a single car. Sometimes the knock sensor may show that it's fault, however it could be that other issues with your engine causing the knock sensor to trigger an alarm. Check your Sparks plugs cables at night time and see if there is leakage with the engine body. Check the air filter and inlet manifold air supply. Check vacuum hoses for any cracks. If all checked okay, then check the sensor voltage rating and if low or open, then replace. Regards

Anyone know if bank 2 is the passenger or driver side of the engine?

it depends on the vehicle my chevy equinox if i remember correctly bank 2 is in the rear of the engine. I replaced both which i suggest you should to. Unless it is hard to get to the location.

Why does delco tell me this is the only sensor for my 2007 4.8 vortec

Hello.For your '07 Chevy 4.8l Vortec there are two knock sensor 213-1576 and 213-3521.

Is this considered a flat response ot resonant knock sensor?

I replaced my knock sensor after noticing a rough engine performance after doing 40k miles. I also replaced the oxygen censor as the fuel used did contain led. I did a diagnostic check and the oxygen censor fault code was coming on. After changing both parts the engine nocking and rough operation disappeared Always do a diagnostic check before replacing any partsRegards
