It's a real hat I used it for a week of fishing in the Sierra Nevada mountains wore it on several ocean fishing trips n 2 days of dove hunting plus a couple hikes held up nicely so far

If I have the size 7, will be fit this helmet?

I don't know hat sizes. But I have a huge head and this fits me. It can adjust about 1" either side of mean. This is a good quality hat despite the "costume" in the description. I use it at work.

Will this fit a 23.5”/60cm head (XL, size 7 5/8 - 7.5)?

That's about how big my head is. But see my earlier review of this hat about the placement of the band that holds on to the head. If you're just looking for a hat to wear to a one-off party it might not matter. But see my three star review about the way this hat fits. Just recieved this item, product descriptions says hat is made of hardend straw, when I recieved the lable said made of paper, Which one is it? Mike

I have had this shady hat for 2 years and enjoy wearing it, It is both cool and light in weight. It appears that it is woven of a fibrous material that has been coated and then molded (or vice versa). The fibers are flat, too flat to be "straw" which would surely retain some of its round shape. It probably is some type of paper material made from plant fibers. Something that is a fine line between it and actual straw which itself is a plant material. Many hats are woven from grass which can also be used to make paper. It looks like a half full/half empty thing to me.
