Initial unboxing, set up, and familiarization impressions.
Shipping was prompt and the package arrived as scheduled. The packaging was impeccable. This little oscilloscope could have survived about any incident I can imagine it having to possibly go through during shipping. I was very pleased with how compact and lightweight it is. It's been about thirty years since I've used an o'scope and from memory they used to be horrendously bulky and heavy beasts. For my purposes, in my little amplifier and guitar repair operation, this gem is exactly the right dimensions and weight. My initial read through of the manual was only a little bit confusing but after sitting down and going through the operation section step by step to familiarize myself with it's buttons and knobs and their functions I found it quite easy to operate and with numerous features (such as an included 100X probe for high voltage work) that are admirable. Calibrating the 1X/10X probes was a breeze with the little calibration tool (flat top screwdriver) supplied. And it sits atop the shelf above my workbench in perfect viewing position right next to my multimeter and soldering station making it highly accessable which is a huge plus for me. So far the only negative attribute is that the output potential of the signal generator isn't adjustable from it's rated 2V pp. For use in guitar amplifiers I need a much lesser input in mV. So I will probably have to add a stand alone signal generator to my list of equipment. But I was aware of this feature when I bought it so I won't detract from my rating for it. For other purposes not requiring a smaller input potential this built in signal generator will work well. I haven't had the opportunity to try it out in actual signal tracing yet as I'm waiting for load ballast resistors to arrive but I have no compulsions to think it will do anything but serve me well at this point. So up to this point I am quite pleased with this item all around excepting where noted above. The price is definitely a value for everything this little unit can do.

A room with a view !!
For very little money, I have myself a great little tool. It functions very well and I simply love the "view" or rather the lcd screen. I used to have a large oscilliscope with a cathode ray tube. Worlds of difference. As other reviews say, yes, it's not a precision laboratory instrument, but it is accurate enough for hobbyists and casual users. It is large enough to accomodate a easy to see screen and also a compliment of knobs and switches instead of those "multi-function buttons" found on other units.

Great oscilloscope - when not using the included Power supply
This is a really neat little oscilloscope that's well worth the money. It behaves like advertised. The internal signal generator can only create 10MHz sine and max. 2 MHz square waves. I looked at a 50MHz clock signal from a CMOS clock oscillator (KC3225A50.0000) and it nicely shows the signal. So the 100MHz bandwidth seem to be close to the truth. When using the USB power adaptor that comes with it, there is a lot of noise on low voltage signals. I am using an iPad power supply now and the noise is gone. Hard to understand why FNIRSI ships this nice oscilloscope with such a crappy power adaptor... The oscilloscope has a very intuitive user interface. Very easy to use. Creating a custom wave form in the signal generator is not straight forward and required to look up the manual. The example in the pictures is the skyline of Chicago. Created in in matlab and sent it via the audio output to the oscilloscope. From there it can be stored as a customized wave form and it can be set to any frequency (up to 1MHz). There are a couple of things that are a bit strange: 1) When connecting the USB port to a mac, the connection cannot be terminated - other than turning the oscilloscope off. (at least I didn't find anything) 2) The screenshot bitmaps all have a time stamp of Mar 22, 2020. 3) The Voltage reading is a bit on the high side (5-10%). It would be nice if the Voltage scale could be calibrated. Yet, for the price it's great and it does what it's supposed to do. I don't regret buying it! I would buy it again. Update Dec. 2024. After buying a Rigol DS1202Z-E in 2023, I realize that I hardly ever turn my FNIRSI on anymore. I have to admit, that the FNIRSI is really only for the very beginner. Also, it is clear now, that over 30MHz the FNIRSI gives very inaccurate results. The Rigol is twice the price, but it can do a huge amount of things more than the FNIRSI. Today, I would not buy the FNIRSI again.

Two in a row, defective right out of the box…
The product was definitely sealed brand new in the box with shrink wrap on the box… And yet I hooked everything up and powered it on for the very first time excited to use it, and the screen seems to be busted underneath… you can’t really tell when the device is not on… The screen is busted from behind… but, and it’s current state it is completely useless. UPDATE: The replacement unit came in… I recorded a video of me unboxing the new one just in case it didn’t work. Amazon will not let me upload it because the video was too long. This was definitely a brand new unit. The product itself is shrink wrapped and then packaged with foam on all sides of the product. These are actually packaged extremely well. The box itself was shrink wrapped as well… And yet, as you will see in my video, I got a little bit further with this one… Instead of hitting the power button, and getting a broken screen, I noticed that the power button was partially jammed in… I was able to unjam it by pressing it. The logo screen showed up and I was feeling very optimistic… And then a little line shot across the screen, and everything went black. The screen didn’t come back on again… I tried turning it on again, after pressing the power button a few times, I got the logo screen again… And then I realized what was happening, the device is shutting itself back off immediately … it does not work. That is two brand new items completely defective out of the box. This is a TRASH company. There is no way that they quality check their products if they are sending them out like this. What are the chances of getting two completely broken items back to back if they are actually quality checking the build process? At this point, I am behind schedule on something that I was supposed to work on for somebody and I’m absolutely livid… I realize you get what you pay for… But I paid almost $200. When I bought this, the price wasn’t discounted down to 170… and for $200 I don’t expect the most amazing oscilloscope on the market… But I do expect one that actually works and functions … This company has wasted so much of my time sending me out their crap… They don’t even make sure that their products work before they package and send it… I will never purchase another object from this company ever ever again…. I cannot believe that they do not have more respect for their own brand name to at least make sure that an item is in working order before sending it out and letting people get a negative impression of their merchandise…. I now have to drive all the way into town to the Whole Foods store to drop these two giant plastic paper weights back off so that I don’t get charged for this useless garbage… and until I do that, I cannot order a working one… Because I don’t get the refund until I drop the merchandise off. So I highly suggest nobody order this product because you are taking a major gamble. It is Crystal clear that they do not check these at all before they package them up and sell them. There are a couple others from other companies around the same price range… FNIRSI wants you to buy the other brands… They want you to leave negative reviews on their items, they want you to drive them out of business… And that’s why they don’t even bother to make sure their products work before selling them… if you want to do business with a company like that, you might as well, at least save yourself some time and skip the part where you buy their broken merchandise and just go straight to the other brand’s products… Two defective units in a row is absolutely inexcusable in my book.

Good little scope.
Good little scope, haven't used all the features...yet. Takes a little getting use to it. Use of auto setup seem to work, but is not ideal for triggering, which takes some patients. The readouts measurements are good to have. The waveform generator is handy, but can be complex if you let it. It does have a USB port to download or control stuff... I have not used that part yet. The probes appear to be pretty good, The 10 X are what I use for speed and circuit loading. The scope is ground isolated which makes some jobs easier and safer.

Great affordable scope to get your feet wet with, that will actually help you fix electronics.
One year later and this scope still works. Take care of your tools and they take care of you. I have successfully repaired several game consoles using this scope. Yes its not a high end scope, but any tool in capable hands can help you successfully diagnose and repair what your working on. I spent a couple of months watching videos and comparing specs before I bought this scope. Great value for the price. Accurate fast information when looking for signals that are intermittent when wiggling component's. Fits in my small work space easily and is durable enough to take a couple of falls. Great affordable scope to get your feet with, that will actually help you fix electronics.

This is a perfect first oscilloscope for tinkering hobbyist.
Having never used an oscilloscope before in my life, I had to go to youtube to find videos of how to use it, but I am sure anyone who has used these before would be able to plug in and power up and start using with no issues. The things I like the most are all the different function signals it can generate. This is perfect for all sorts of projects and troubling shooting, and for the price point, you cannot go wrong. It has two low-voltage probes, a high-voltage probe, and an alligator clip connection with red/black clips. It has everything you need to start immediately and makes it easy to tune the probes with a little tool that allows you to use it like a screwdriver. This is for anyone looking for a hobbyist-level scope and is a great first scope for beginners. However, it is built with enough quality and features that even a seasoned pro looking for an inexpensive tool to add to their workbench would enjoy this purchase.

Excellent value, easy to use and good for educational prurposes
Very light and portable. I was able to use this scope with a USB battery pack charger. The built in signal generator is amazing with over a dozen types of waveforms. Also has dual channel capability and can do Lissajous (X vs. Y) display which can measure phase difference between 2 sinusoidal signals, FFTs, etc. Although the user manual is brief and a little hard to understand, it does cover all of the functionality and has enough screen shots to help most novices be able to use this scope with little difficulty.
