Great addition to your collection
I recently had the opportunity to try out the Fin De Siecle Kipper Fortune Telling Deck, and here is my honest review of the product:Design and ArtworkThe design of this deck is visually stunning. The cards are beautifully illustrated with intricate details and vibrant colors. The imagery is reminiscent of the late 19th century, which adds a unique and nostalgic touch to the deck.Card QualityThe cards are of high quality, with a smooth finish and sturdy construction. They feel durable and are easy to shuffle. The cardstock used is thick enough to withstand regular use without showing signs of wear and tear.GuidebookThe accompanying guidebook is informative and provides detailed interpretations for each card in the deck. It explains the meanings and symbolism behind the cards, making it helpful for beginners or those unfamiliar with the Kipper system. However, the guidebook could have been more comprehensive, as it lacks in-depth explanations or alternative interpretations.Ease of UseThe Fin De Siecle Kipper Fortune Telling Deck is relatively easy to use once you familiarize yourself with the meanings of the cards. However, it is worth noting that this deck follows the Kipper system, which is different from traditional tarot decks. So if you are not familiar with Kipper or other oracle systems, there may be a learning curve involved.Accuracy and InterpretationIn terms of accuracy, I found the deck to be quite reliable. The card meanings and symbolism were generally spot-on, providing insightful guidance and reflections on various aspects of life. However, as with any divination tool, interpretation is subjective, and it ultimately depends on the intuition and connection between the reader and the cards.VersatilityOne area where this deck falls short is its versatility. The Fin De Siecle Kipper Fortune Telling Deck is primarily designed for fortune-telling and divination purposes. It may not be as well-suited for other types of spiritual or personal development practices. So, if you are specifically looking for a deck that can serve multiple purposes, you may want to explore other options.Overall ImpressionThe Fin De Siecle Kipper Fortune Telling Deck is a visually appealing and accurate tool for those interested in Kipper fortune-telling. The quality of the cards is excellent, and the interpretations provided in the guidebook are insightful. However, its limited scope and specific focus on fortune-telling may not appeal to everyone. If you are looking for a versatile oracle deck, you may want to consider other options.

Another beautiful, old-school fortune-telling deck by Ciro Marchetti
I was very excited to see another oracle deck by one of my favorite tarot artists, Ciro Marchetti. I have spent a considerable amount of time working with his "Gilded Reverie Lenormand". As someone who grew up in an environment where the women read fortunes (old-school) with a regular deck of playing cards, these minimalist type of decks are right up my alley. I can see where they (my mother and aunts) got some of their inspiration from (probably the "Gypsy Witch" fortunetelling cards and Lenormand-type decks). When I say minimalist, I don't detract from Ciro's artwork at all. The Kipper deck, like all of Marchetti's decks, is beautifully, thoughtfully illustrated. Whether you are looking at character-oriented cards (such as: Main Female, Mature Man, False Person, or Privileged Lady) or cards such as Lovers, House, Change, Sudden Wealth, Bad Health, or Coffin) the graphics effectively depict the depth of the meaning behind the one or two words on the cards. After a brief period of time working with this deck, the studious reader will not need to rely on the book to interpret these cards. It starts to become second nature (the ability to interpret the card yourself and then to blend that interpretation with the meanings of the surrounding cards in a spread). One complaint I have is that the Kipper deck is not the same size as the Lenormand (the Lenormand deck is slightly taller). It makes (shuffling) using them together rather cumbersome. I tried this a couple of times and have found that if you are going to do this, the best way to incorporate them together may be to shuffle both decks separately. I lay out the Kipper deck first then cover each card in the reading with a Lenormand card for more information on the Kipper card underneath. I find this works extremely well. With the Lenormand trimmed in gold and the Kipper in silver, you almost think they were meant to be used paired together. Unlike the Lenormand, the Kipper deck is comprised of a lot of character (people) cards. So using the Lenormand alongside the Kipper deck can really enhance a reading. Give it a try (if you have both decks) and see what you think. As mentioned by other reviewers, the artist chose to give these cards a British Victorian feel, though this deck originated in Germany. He also chose to add some extra cards to the deck. This only adds to the uniqueness of this deck. The cards are small, easy to shuffle and the box, is well made. The booklet to the Kipper deck, unlike the one for the Lenormand, is bound and well-made. It provides interpretations from three different people for each of the cards (sometimes they reinforce each other's interpretation, sometimes these three viewpoints provides a little more insight into the meaning of individual cards).I love the tarot, but sometimes, if you are like me, you want some information on the nitty-gritty, day-to-day world that the Tarot seems to sometimes dance around. Death, illness, birth, luck, career success or failure, love, marriage, divorce, etc. Yes, these cards can scare you (life isn't always pretty) at face value. As a regular reader of these types of oracle decks, a coffin (or death card coming up, or a thief card) doesn't necessarily mean you or someone is going to die or get robbed. It can still carry metaphorical meaning instead of a face-value type of interpretation. I look for patterns....do these cards come up with more frequency than usual. Do they always seem to appear around the main person, or a particular individual (the child card, for example)? If so, then take special note as it could be trying to tell you to guard your health, brace yourself for some sort of disaster, or prepare for some good times ahead. But, remember, nothing is pre-ordained to happen. All in all, it's another wonderful deck by Ciro Marchetti. This, along with the Lenormand, are two decks I work with frequently. I find the information and insight I receive to be extremely helpful and I recommend this deck to both experienced and novice fortune-tellers.

The Kipper deck I reach for most often
This deck is my very favorite Kipper. I connected to the art immediately. It’s modern without losing the antique ‘fin de seicle’ turn of the century charm. 1900 to be precise. The cards follow 1920 directions. Which works perfectly so long as the reader stays consistent, so say the experts. There are also 3 extra cards and a good instruction booklet. The only critique I have is that the cardstock is not my beloved 310 linen. I have not found a Kipper that I connect with in linen yet. However, the cardstock this deck is printed on is glossy and easy to handle.I’m so tickled pink by this deck that I’ve just purchased the mini version on Mr. Marchetti’s site. It’s not a mass market deck as this larger one is, and being such, the price is higher. However, it promises to come signed! Also, a 4th extra card with your zodiac sign, a velvet bag, and a cloth to read on! I wouldn’t be surprised if the mini goes mass market, too. I pray the mini is 310 linen cardstock. I know lots of card readers who geek out on both this deck and Mr.Marchetti’s Gilded Reverie Lenormand. He has striking tarot and oracle decks that I've just seen for the first time and look forward to working with them.
