Good for the price
Decent little NAS but limited write speeds. I have been unable to get more than about 80MBps on enterprise 10TB drives which will hit 200 individually in a server. On the other hand, this is used as a low cost remote storage solution so for that it works fine!

Once delivered a lovely item
I had a few issues in getting this device, which already gave me a negative view of the item. I'm glad I went pushed through all the delivery issues though, as this item is very good. Installing the hard drives was easy, configuration was just as easy. A few moments ago I dropped 2 episodes of a show on to the thing. It took about 5 seconds each (avg 65 - 70mb/s). This will differ depending on your network and number of devices utilising said network, but so far I'm happy. The only issues I'm having is with EzConnect, which doesn't seem to be able to connect to the device even though the app on the device says its configured correctly. I'll look into this once I have all my DVDs and Blu Rays on the thing, as at the moment I don't need spend time on connected from an external network. I will update the review once I get around to it.

Its crap
Continual loss of network connectivity, old firmware that cannot be updated, very poor quality. complete waste of money buy Synology instead

Very diappointed
For the price, seemed a steal. Have spent close to 15hrs trying to get it to be recognised by my PC (along with 2 other laptops and 3 different ethernet cables) to no avail. The control centre couldnt find it, and after a lot of searching found the default IP address, set my network adaptor accordingly and still could not be found. They dont provide a web address to access the NAS, unlike Synology of which i have 3. Finally, last gasp was using NMAP and it found it, so connectivity was there but no access. If i didnt know better, someone has wiped the OS, quite why i dont know, so I have returned it. I was happy to get a replacement but Amazon dont sell them anymore, so just a refund for me.

Background: I pretty much just needed an accessible means of file storage that I could grow with; I didn't need it to do any fancy encoding on its send. It was all about being able to send and receive files without everything having to be physically connected to it. The usb ports on my home router were able to do this, to a point. With the router, it couldn't support any form of RAID and simply, its sharing protocol was (I guess?) SMB v1, which windows 10 likes to actively forget exists. Also needed something that could actively cool the hard drive(s) because I otherwise had a pair of HGST's that loved to get over 50C operating temp when on a normal open air dock; and when getting that warm, they just loved to behave like suddenly all my data was gone.l This nas kind of just solved it all in one. If anything, it's just easy to forget about it because it's been so reliable. Maybe if my needs expand much beyond that I could see about a higher end model. But for now, this thing is great!
