Stolen Tongues

Genuinely scary!
I have been reading horror novels for over 30 years and very few spring to mind as genuinely giving me goosebumps. Stolen Tongues did. I thought that it was very well written, a real page turner and genuinely scary. Top marks and I can't wait to read more by Felix Blackwell!

Good and spooky
Well written, good plot and could see it being made into a film. It didn't grab me as much as I was hoping it would, but it was still a good book.

Deliciously creepy
I couldn't stop reading this and it's the only book I have ever read that has given me a real world feeling of unease.Every few pages, I felt entirely creeped out and I loved this book for that. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because it didn't end the way I wanted it to. Other than that, this is hands down my favourite horror book to date.

enough to keep me turning the pages
Read it in one sitting. I couldn't put it down. Enough suspense to make it that I couldn't put it down.

Creepy as hell
I just finished reading Stolen Tongues by Felix Blackwell after reading rave reviews on the Books Of Horror Facebook group. I was definitely not disappointed..A romantic cabin getaway doesn't go exactly as planned. High up on the windswept cliffs of Pale Peak, Faye and Felix celebrate their new engagement. But soon, a chorus of ghastly noises erupts from the nearby woods: the screams of animals, the cries of children, and the mad babble of a hundred mournful voices. A dark figure looms near the windows in the dead of night, whispering to Faye. As the weather turns deadly, Felix discovers that his terrified fiancΓ©e isn't just mumbling in her sleep - she's whispering back.Originally a contest-winning story on reddit.com's horror community NoSleep, Stolen Tongues has received widespread acclaim and is now being adapted into a feature film...This book is just another reason why I love to support Indie authors. Despite being a self published and crowdfunded novel, it reads really well and feels polished. I don't scare easily, but this book creeped me the hell out, it had me on edge throughout and the movie adaptation better live up to the novel. If you are looking for something scary and creepy to send a different kind of shiver down your spine on these cold winter nights, then Stolen Tongues needs to be on your tbr. I'm giving this one 4 big shiny stars

Actually very scary.
I don't find most 'horror' novels very frightening, but this did give me the creeps whilst reading and even more so at night when I'm trying to get to sleep! Hooks you in from the beginning and difficult to put down. Highly recommend.
