Hammerite 5158235 Metal Paint, Smooth Black, 1LPainting your car can be a long and laborious task at the best of times. Primer, undercoats and topcoats are needed and therefore you will have to purchase three different tins of paint to get the job done, until now. Hammerite Metal Paint can be applied directly onto rusty metal thanks to a formula that has been developed to be a primer, undercoat and topcoat in one. It gives a brilliant gloss finish that is smooth to touch whilst forming a barrier that not only seals out moisture but gives long lasting protection, both inside and out. Easy to use, apply it on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Comes in smooth black in a 1L tin. The Hammerite range is designed to protect metalwork from humidity, rain and rust. Usage Guide: Hammerite Metal Paint can be used for all kinds of metal, like railings, garden furniture and pots or even a balcony. It is not only an excellent way to protect your metal objects, you can also lift the look of them. Remove all loose rust and flaking paint from the metal using a wire brush. If the metal was already painted, wash down thoroughly with diluted detergent, rinse with clean water and allow to dry. To ensure compatibility, apply a small test patch of Hammerite Direct to Rust Metal Paint Smooth Finish to the painted surface. Any reaction will occur within an hour. If a reaction is evident, remove all paint then wash down with degreaser. Rinse with clean water and allow to dry. If the objects are made from bare zinc, aluminium or galvanized metal use Hammerite Direct to Galvanised Metal Paint. For smooth metal surfaces, lightly abrade for maximum adhesion. Cover the surface beneath the metal object with thick newspaper or a dust sheet to catch any spills or drips. Stir the paint thoroughly before use, and apply with a good quality brush. A narrow brush is best for use on railings. A broad is best for use on bigger metal object, like a garden table. Apply two thin coats of Hammerite Direct to Rust Metal Paint in Smooth finish for the best results, leaving to dry in between as per instructions on back of pack.Hammerite 5092820 Kurust, 250 mlThere is no worse feeling than seeing a rough, orange surface on your car that was once graced by a coat of paint. With British weather guaranteeing rain during all four seasons of the year, your car may already be showing the signs of rusted bodywork. However, rather than go through the costly inconvenience of replacing the panel, Hammerite can provide you a solution. Hammerite Kurust is ideal for small patches of rust. It converts rusty metal to a clean surface in 15 minutes, allowing virtually any topcoat to be applied in 3 hours. Simply apply with a brush and watch the Kurust formula turn blue/black as it reacts with the rust. No undercoat or primer is required. Comes in a 250ml bottle. The Hammerite range is designed to protect metalwork from humidity, rain and rust.

Does what it says on the tin!
I’ve used hammerite paint before in garden furniture. This time I painted my garage door. After a quick light sanding (to provide a key) I applied a coat with a small roller. Next day gave it another coat.Totally renewed my garage door. I didn’t even attempt to clean the foam roller and small paint brush (used for the edges) of the tray…they were binned (a bit of cling film and a plastic bag kept them usable in between coats).Up close the door would benefit from a 3rd coat, but weather turned wet/damp and paint started to cure. Will apply another top coat I the Spring.

Does the job well
This is the second time time I have bought this paint at my husbands request. It did the first job to a good standard he wouldn't have bought it again otherwise. Well pleased

Good paint
Really good coverage. Arrived in good condition and is actually cheaper than in screwfix! Hard to comment on durability and longevity as we had only used it on an outdoor fence 2 months ago but they look good so far.
