Simple idea, and it works perfectly
This product was sent to me for test and evaluation. This surprisingly bright light bulb works on the same principle as the more familiar outdoor security lights. A sensor (in this case a radar one) detects movement and switches the light on. After around 20 seconds the light goes off by itself, provided no fresh movement is detected so if I stand perfectly still, the lamp goes off but if I keep moving, it stays lit. This makes is ideal for any indoor area where a temporary light might be useful during the night: a corridor, staircase or other passage area where normally one would need to install switches at both ends.We have placed this bulb in a room where the light switch is in an awkward position and we keep nudging a nearby painting when reaching for the switch. The bulb (pointing upwards) detects us at a good 4 metres away, so it can be positioned at the back of the room. The light cast is a pleasant warm tone and is quite bright but not blinding (roughly 400 lumens).The slatted design of the lower half disperses heat and, being LED, it comes on instantly at full power, instead of the annoying slow build-up of my previous CFL bulb. This one has a consumption rating of 5 W which makes it very economical; the base is the wider E27 screw type and fits our standard fixtures. The way LED bulbs have come down in price, and considering the very low consumption and long life, I can see many applications for this type of product: garage, laundry room, basement, storage area, shed, porch and more. A solid-looking product at a very reasonable price.

This is a 5 W LED bulb that produces about 400 lm of fairly warm light, roughly equivalent to a 40 W incandescent. It is a standard A19 size and shape, more or less. It has a frosted plastic cover with some writing on it and the lower portion is white plastic with vents. The E27 base fits standard U.S. and European lighting fixtures.It has both light and radar motion sensors to turn the light on instantly when it detects both near-darkness and motion and then turns off about 12 seconds after no motion is detected. It doesn’t sense the movement of normal breathing, so if I stand perfectly still, it will eventually turn off.I would prefer higher wattage and cooler color LEDs for brighter, whiter light for daytime use, but this version is perfect for nighttime trips to the bathroom. The only problem that I have encountered is that I sometimes forget that it turns off automatically and flip the switch on the wall off when I leave the bathroom, out of habit.MingerDirect provided a sample bulb for evaluation and review.

A motion sensing light bulb was a good idea
Works as advertised. Really sensitive to motion. No complaints. Good deal for the price. I plan on buying another
