Works great!
We have a 2-section recliner sofa that just hit 5 years old. It's a mechanical sofa, and has the "S" shaped supports. Originally the cushions/springs were very firm, but unfortunately only took a year before they started showing significant wear. For the amount we paid, I was seriously upset. Especially since we are not hard on our furniture (no kids), and I only weight 180 and my wife less than 120. I'd called the retailer and manufacturer, who both told me that they just wear out and was not covered under warranty. Also, the cushions are sewn into the seats, so there's no easy way to replace them ourselves. I'd called all of the major furniture shops in the city asking what it would cost to fix, but every one told me they don't work on motorized recliners. At this point I was ready to call it a loss and buy a new sofa. Then I began looking online for ways to fix it ourselves. I didn't have much hope since it was likely a major repair, but then came across this product. The logistics of why it work made sense, so figured a $30 last resort, ditch effort was worth it. The pads came in today, and I think it took longer to open the shipping box & packaging than to install them. Since there are 3 pieces and only 2 sections, I just installed 2 in one side and 1 in the other. The results were nothing short of a miracle! I can't say for sure if the sofa has it's original support back since it was so long ago, but it's darn close! I am sooo excited to finally have our sofa back, especially since we were right on the edge of replacing it.Knowing what I know now, I would have purchased two 3/4"x20"x27" pieces instead of the 3 1/2"x6"x18" recliner set. The extra 1/4" is needed, and since it's only a 2-piece sectional, the added size would have been ideal. Instead, I'm going to put all 3 pieces under one side, and order the larger 3/4" pad for the other side. It'll be a bit different, but significantly better than before. In all actuality, you can probably make your own for far less. I'm not exactly sure where you can buy this type of foam, but I assume you can get a large sheet for about the price of 2 of these products. It feels similar to like a yoga mat, though possibly a bit more rigid. Still, I gave the product 5 stars because it did exactly what it said it would do, and cost less than 10% of what we expected to pay for a repair.

Expensive foam. Excellent system
Installing two of these on our La-Z-Boy reclining sofa was easy for me, but I can see it being moderate to difficult for someone who does not have very strong hands. The product really did help and there is new life in the seating surface... however, for what you get material-wise, this item is quite expensive.I don't regret my purchase, but if I needed more then I would probably just order a full sheet of 1/2" crosslink polyethelene 2lb foam and cut it myself. It would be more work, but I could do ten seats for less than the price of two of these kits and could get a slightly thicker or heavier weight foam (Note that this would make it much more difficult and potentially hazardous to install) in order to customize my results a little. It is a specialty type of foam, but with the Internet, it's not very difficult to buy directly.Even so, this IS a good product and if you just have one or two seats to do then I would recommend it because they are precut and therefore much simpler to use. I think that they should include more pieces, maybe double the current three to six, without changing the price in order to make it a good value.

Not firm enough
I liked that they were fairly easy to put in but they just didn't make a big enough difference.

Worked like charm but not easy.
Worked like a charm to rejuvenate my lazy boy recliner. Leather chair in perfect condition except for sagging seat. NOTE: My son-in-law is a big man and strong and he had to really pull hard for us to get the pads in. The instructions say it is much easier done with two people. My springs were still very stiff and strong, so if your springs are stretched out, you might not have the same difficulty we encountered. But I couldn't have done it myself (70 y/o woman). Still, the end results saved me hundreds of dollars - literally.

Too bad, no sag.
I have a La-Z-Boy that I got a little over a year ago and was looking to take preventative action to prevent sagging. My old chair sagged incredibly bad (however, it was an off-brand chair). Needless to say, I tried to install these on my La-Z-Boy and I couldn't get past one spring. So why the 5-star review? Simple, if they are so strong and supportive that I can't even put them through more than one spring cause there is too much cushion, imagine how strong they'll be when I have significant sagging.I've stored them away for the future. Clearly its an effective product. I was skeptical to be honest.Update: April 2019. I recently decided to try and add these to my La-z-boy as it is starting to sag. Mind you, my la-z-boy is a smaller one, its not a 'giant chair'. Even so, these are too short. They don't connect to both sides, rendering them useless. Stinks cause I really thought they'd work perfectly.

Excellent Idea ...just what I was looking for !!
Worked great and relatively easy to install however you will break out in a sweat if attempting to install these alone. As far as value for the money, this is basically and 18 x 18 piece of high density foam perfectly cut into three pieces for thirty bucks. Now that I understand the concept behind this great idea I have another recliner that needs attention but first I think I am going to see what type of high density foam materials my local hardware stores have available and compare the costs.

Stiff at first, then sagging returned
It made the cushions a little too stiff, but I was willing to make adjustments. However, after about two weeks the sagging returned. It was an older loveseat recliner but extremely well taken care of.Broke my heart, but I wound up donating it and buying a new one.
