Purchased this to paint for a Kaylee Frye/Firefly cosplay. It was easy to paint (I used acrylics), is sturdy and just the right size and quality.

As described! Arrived in two days from order, well packaged! When opening this for the first time you need to gently loosen the umbrella and gently open it. Do not force the umbrella open or force latch it in place, it is a very tight fit but very well made. As a paper parasol made from rice paper, you cannot expect this to withstand overuse or a heavy hand. Would definitely order again!

Bought this for a cosplay costume. I know it's paper, but for $14 I would expect it to be a little sturdier. Had to tape up 2 tears just from opening it up. I needed to paint swirls on it for the costume, and I was really worried about how it would stand up to the acrylic paint. Did just fine with that, though.

Absolutely horrible. Delivery was on time, packaging was nice, however, as soon as I went to open the parasol, there was a loud pop and one of the panels broke from the seam before it was even latched into the open position. You can see in this picture how the broken seam looks bigger than the others and yet the same amount of paper was used to make it. Very displeased with the craftsmanship of this item. I wouldn't even review using "star rating" if it weren't necessary.

I bought this because I needed a red parasol for a cosplay I planned to do in a week's time at a convention. Upon arrival, I wanted to open it up to check the quality and see how well it would go with my cosplay. However, not even fully open, the paper tears between two supports.If I can't even open it up in my home, how am I supposed to expect it to hold up at a con, surrounded by bustling and busy con-goers, even the possibility of it getting bumped and mayb3 knocked around a bit.I plan to send it back, as the paper feels like tissue paper, it can't open all the way and the fact it tore the barest minimum it was opened. This is a poor product and would only recommend to people who don't plan on opening it.

I bought this parasol to protect my skin from the hot, hot sun. It's pretty, but the color is rather browner than the gold it appears to be in the photograph. Still, it's well-made and good to have at hand.

Used this for an outdoor music festival and this truly saved me from overheating and from getting sunburned. Great buy!

The item I received is much more obviously green in person than the teal in this picture. Add to that, the item seems fairly flimsy (granted, yes, its made of paper) it creaked tremendously when I opened it and was afraid to push it open further to release the locking mechanism. It didn't break or tear while opening or closing, thankfully, so it will have to do.
