It is so simple that it works - NOT
I am sorry I have to edit my review. I purchased this and used it in-house for a couple weeks. I initially gave it 5-Stars, but it has quickly gone to one star after only a few weeks. It comes with two straps and the first one broke after the first time I tried to tighten it enough that it was snug on the lens. No big deal, my fault I though, I will use it on a smaller lens. When I trimmed the excess end off it broke again. Not my fault. Then I put the second strap on the original lens and it lasted less than two minutes out in the field. The second strap broke where the strap meets the handle mount. Total junk. This was supposed to be a simple quick field follow focus for the camera has to come off the rig while in the field. The second one broke while it was on the rig and protected. Here is my original review, "Okay guys, what do you expect? It affordable and it works well. Sure you can wrap a zip tie around your lens a tape a pencil on it and accomplish the same thing. But for no more than this costs it looks a lot better. And there are situations when something very simple works the best."Now it is not an expensive item, but your money would be better spent on lunch. I wish I could get my money back but I can't find all the pieces.

good little tool , but not perfect.
pros:It's one of those simple but genius things that you wish you would have invented . It's a tie strap with a metal rod at the end ! yeah , that's what it is . It adds some leverage to a tight zoom ring like what i have on my tamron 17-50 .cons:What's not shown in the advertisement pics is the other end of the strap where it joins both ends. it pokes out and can brush up on your rig depending on the circumference of your lens, makes it a little awkward. If you have to use it without a rig , you'll just scratch yourself .

Does what it does, nicely
Anyone who has tried to use their fingers to smoothly zoom (follow focus? not necessary with the Canon 70D on which I've got this mounted ;) ) knows it's very hard to get consistent results, especially on large-diameter lenses. This gives you the leverage and fine-grained control to, after some practice, get it right every time. (It helps to be on a tri- or monopod, but I've gotten pretty good at using it handheld too.As has been observed elsewhere, it's basically a zip-tie with a socket, and a knurled handle that screws into it, so the price seems a little high (why four stars rather than five), but otherwise it does the job.

Great product
Great idea for a simple and inexpensive follow focus. Zip tie around the lens with a screw in handle. Seems to work very well. It does depend on the friction in the lens barrel, so it probably won't work with all lenses. The kit comes with two zip ties and one handle, would be better if it had a handle for each zip tie, but you probably won't store the lenses with handle attached so it's not too bad to deal with.

which didn't help) I imagine it would have been perfect for my needs
Not much to review - I admit to possible user error, but the thing kept popping off the focus ring (at the very front of the lens). Had it gripped the focus ring (which is smooth rather than textured, which didn't help) I imagine it would have been perfect for my needs, which is of course why I bought it in the first place.

After messing with this for a day I ordered something else that I like much better because it works much better
I wouldn't buy this again. After messing with this for a day I ordered something else that I like much better because it works much better, is easier to put on and take off, and looks better. It was hard for me to get what is essentially a zip tie to move in and out of the opening. Once I get it tight it takes a lot of patience for me to loosen it to get it off. Since I use my DSLR for video and photo in the same event this part is essential. The one I ended up liking and am now using is Velcro and the handles are smooth and I really like it.

Ring too stiff, 90-degre clamp greatly reduces comfort and reusability
This product has great idea, bit not so great manufacturing:- plastic ring is so stiff that it is hardly bended arround smaller lenses,- in order for ring to be reusable there is zip-tie "releseable" clamp at the end of plastic ring, but it has 90-degree angle between clamp side and free side of the ring... with such clamp, due to the ring stiffnes it is impossible to tie it up firmly if you want it to be reusable, couse if you tie it strongly it is impossible to release zip-tie clamp. If producer would make more elastic ring, similar to good home depot zip-ties, with straight-throu (180-degree) clamp - that would be great tool. Bit "as is now" it is just nice idea.

Nice little product
Is essence it's a ziptie with a stick. We'll see how long the zipties last (it came with two) but the stick is nice solid metal. It sure beats using a jar opener! The zipties are reusable and once you trim the excess off they look like they belong there. Really makes a huge difference when focusing my Blackmagic Pocket camera, I'll be buying another kit to use as a zoom controller as wellIf you're shooting video and don't want to plop down big bucks for a proper follow focus (or are run-n-gunning with a BMPCC or small DSLR rig without rails to mount a follow focus on) I can't really see a reason to not buy this.
