I am down-sizing to a senior living apartment. Very nice indeed it is but I needed a flatware set that-- was very affordable but not flimsy--attractive to make me happy when I used it--wouldn't break my heart if pieces went missing--has enough pieces so I could entertain family & guests--if I dropped a piece, wouldn't cling, ring, ding, or breakThis beautiful set for six exceeds my requirements and expectations. The design has flair in the pearlized ivory handles with the touch of shiny "silver". It does not look like left-overs from a prison cutlery yard-sale, overly simple. There's a playfulness that makes me happy! The edges of the fork, spoons, and knife are smooth and well-polished, except where it should be sharp in the corrugations of the knife blade. The blade has done fine with chicken, steak, and fish. And for the low Amazon price for a service for six? I'm totally delighted!Any buyer alerts? First, this set is for eating, not supplementary kitchenware. The fork and knife are plenty strong for eating but would probably not stand up for cutting a big loaf of very crusty bread, lifting a big pot roast, and carving up raw carrots. Second, the handles are pleasingly rounded which means they do not lie flat. They stack nicely on their sides but need a drawer at least 3 inches deep.The set comes attractively packed in a container with a handle. For a just-starting couple, a student, campers, the Novell stainless could be attractively wrapped & presented, and would thoughtful gift. Me, I'll be using it, hopefully for quite a few years with pride and pleasure.

I'd give them a four star rating because as another reviewer indicated, there can be some (in my words) "wigglage/wobblage" with the handle. So far, I've only noticed it with one of the knives, but since they're just for everyday use, it's not that big a deal. All the other pieces seem more than adequately secure. I give them five stars because the knives are amazingly sharp and eliminate the need for steak knives and they really do look much nicer than I expected. I would not be at all embarrassed to use these for casual entertaining.

These have held up pretty well so far, but I did have one come completely apart (metal from handle) after a couple months of use. They are very pretty and reasonably durable, and I think they were worth what I paid for them. They're probably not going to be family heirlooms, but if you're looking for a reasonably priced set that to me at least looks more expensive than they were when I bought them, I would recommend them.

These are beautiful but very fragile. I would not recommend them. The break very easily doing everyday things like cutting a butter pattie or cutting a cheese cake. I broke a spoon dipping dog food from a can. I am very disappointed in this product. If I could I would return them and get a refund but I think I have had them too long.

I love the look of the Novell Ivory flatware and the price advertised was great. I ordered a set based on information that a new shipment would be arriving 1/19/17. I was surprised to learn my order would be arriving on 1/19. Just as I feared, the Ivory (pearlized & rounded handle) was substituted with a white and silver striped handle which I do not like. I was willing to wait for the shipment of the product I wanted, but without informing me, a substitute was made.

This flatware ended up being nicer than I expected. The pieces do not feel or look cheap even though their price was. They have a matte finish to the handle and they have a good weight to them. I bought them to go with a set of black melamine dishes and the color coordinated well.I would recommend these for purchase.

I liked this patter so much that I bought a second set. I had reservations about the first purchase because there is only one fork in the place setting. When I began to use the set I saw that for casual daily use one fork is all one needs. great purchase for me.
