I was very happy with this purchase. It was just what I needed to detangle my dogs coat.

I thought my mix poodle dog had to have short hair to keep the mats out. No, just need to brush often and go after the tangles when they happen. Just like people hair. I like this comb as its easy to hold and use. Its not sharp, not as much as I now realize would be nice to have. I was afraid to buy it thinking it would give my dog a hair cut. No, it just glides out the snarl. It is hefty enough to hold and not get a hand cramp. The tips are rounded enough to not scratch the dog's skin. It has enough tines to get some business done but not too many where you get too stuck. I use this one then a more fine tooth comb and that is a nice combo to keep my dog's long fur tangle free. I imagine it would work nice with thick coats and undercoats. I have another comb with with hook like tines that is great for the shedding short hair cats. These longer wavy tines are good for brushing out long fur. I'm happy with the quality and comfort to hold, its holding up well.

This comb slices through matted fur like a hot knife through butter. Makes me happy. My pup doesn't complain. Win. Win.

I had hoped this thing would help me deal with mats on my cat's coat. It did not. The serrated blades did not cut through the mats, so I wound up just pulling on the mat, to the great annoyance of my cat. She was quite loud in her vociferations and left no doubt in my mind that should I continue, I might sustain grievous bodily harm.It is just possible that I was using it wrong. I wouldn't know; it did not come with any instructions.

This works well and does exactly what it’s supposed to, but be sure you have help if you aren’t working on a calm fit baby. If you can’t tell, this has an exposed blade on one side and it is VERY SHARP. My cat panicked while I was working on a mat and jumped, and I lost control of the comb and sliced my non-dominant hand, cutting right through a fingernail. Nothing stitch-worthy thankfully, but boy did it hurt, and it could have easily been worse. So just bear this in mind and have a good helper or one of those gloves chefs wear when they chop things, lol. Or hey, depending on how angry your cat is, maybe a falconing glove. I’m sure they sell those, this is Amazon. :P

I couldn't get this to work for my Maine Coon. Maybe a different animal would produce better results but I didn't have any luck with this product. It's a quality brush in terms of build quality though.

This is a great comb. My dog's hair is always getting tangled and forming mats. So I diced to give this a try and it helps me a lot to keep up with her hair and nice. It's great for de-matting for the price.

I was disappointed with this detangling comb. It wasn't easy to hold or use and seemed to cause discomfort when it encountered a mat on an animal no matter how gentle or what supplementary detangling products were used. It just wasn't a good fit for my grooming needs.
