A friend gave me the wired brass cones that I used to make this 1 3/4-inch set, and I'm thinking about getting more to make a necklace. Brass, an alloy of copper and zinc, goes with pretty much anything (it's also a great 21st wedding anniversary gift!) and it really sets off the orange of the carnelian beads and larger, faceted millefiori glass in these earrings. The fish hook ear wire is also brass, and gold glass beads at the bottom keep it all together.
