The book is not really updated
Just finished it tonight. It says the book was updated to 2012. It really isn't. The whole story happens before 2010, before the CARD Act was passed. It's written more like a novel of what he went through. The book was just ok.

Can be helpful
Ok, let me first admit I've only read the first five chapters. But, already I can see that his method is based on the fact that you need a certain amount of settlement money to, of course, pay a settlement amount. Soooo, what about those of us who's budget is so tight with paying minimums on cards as well as other necessary monthly expenses, and don't have money put aside for settlement? I don't think the author would have had settlement money either if he hadn't received the $45k gift that allowed him to make the settlements. That's what I would like to know.

Destroy Your Credit
This isn't good advice for anyone who is employed (whose wages could be garnished) or has any desire to ever actually purchase something on credit in the future (like a house). It's sad that people would allow themselves to get deep enough into debt that they'd be willing to consider the advice in this book.
