Madeira & Porto Santo Marco Polo Guide (Marco Polo Guides) Paperback – May 28, 2012

Very compact, with beautiful pictures and maps. It helped us navigate Madeira nicely. It is written for British travelers in mind, but it worked for us Americans too.

This was helpful especially the map for my trip to Madeira. I ordered this book at the last minute and it arrived very quickly!

The Marco Polo travel book "Madeira" is a perfect size to easily take along; it's filled with maps, suggestions and insider's hints that are easy to refer to. I especially like how condensed the information is presented, a great format.

As all marco polo guides I have, this one looks geat.

Full of useful information, maps and where to stay. Month by month local events and activities. Climate for the various regions.

Although this is actually a very good guide, with great detail, it will be useless to us as casual visitors to Madeira. It is actually so detailed that it is hard to figure out where and how to do casual hking. It seems very hard to even get oriented. It may make more sense once we are there, but I would have liked maps that provided a better sense of orientation. If we lived there, or had several weeks, this would be much more useful.

Not many guides include Porto Santo and if they do, there is not much info. This has great info and lots of it!

This is a great compact guide to Madeira with perfect suggestions on what to do out and about on the Island. The pull out road map was our prime source for finding our way about the island and was excellent and quite frankly, absolutely necessary.The guide splits the island into regions and suggests lots of things to do and see in those areas.I've dropped a star as the guide could have given more pointers on levada walks but I suppose it never sold itself as a walking guide. A couple of walks were suggested, the one at Rabacal is a must.For the price, you cannot better this guide for things to do and see on the island and the road map makes it worth the price alone.

Locally ALL the maps were out of date, seeing EU grants have allowed tunnels to be built across the island that has changed both bus and access routes universally.Sold our map to a very grateful guest at our hotel at the end of our stay

Purchase ahead of planned holiday to Madeira, which was then cancelled due to the pandemic.One day ....!!

Arrived on time and is as described. Marco Polo guides are always my go-to- laid out nicely, balance of text and images, maps are so useful for touring and planning. Love the fact that they're tucked into the plastic pocket in the back.

The design is hardly Dorlin Kindersley BUT its not at a DK price. This is an excellent little guide with ADDITIONAL really good map!Well worth the money, well done Marco Polo, this is very very good. Would not hesitate to buy more MP guides when you don't have the money or space or weight for a more expensive coffee table type book. This is the guide that you would take with you....
