It’s a very good model. This is the second one of this model that I’ve built.

I've given this model ship four stars because it's quite difficult, to build and understand the drawings that are withthe model. Normally the people who make and design the models don't take into account not everybody is a master at building these kinds of ships. I've been building model ships for over thirty years and this one is the most difficult I've ever come across. Not only do you have to carve each and every part by hand but trying to understand the ships drawings is really a pain in the butt! Normally on the previous ships that I've built the intricate parts are already cut out and included with the ship model not so with the flying fish, you have to be a master shipwright to follow the designs, but being a modeler at heart I'll not give up the ship, anybody who buys this buyer beware it's not for the faint of heart,you will need at least a year of steady work on this to really be complete.

Been building ships for over 60 years. This is the biggest and most challenging so far. spent 900 hours over 10 months. Plans are complete but difficult to follow. They spent a lot of time drawing things that may be on the ship but not "historically accurate", and some that are not neccessary because the scale does not allow accuracy. beautiful model.I wish they would not spend so much time on drawing sails and the related rigging, when most model makers do not think sails are necessary.
