Dachstein Woolwear 100% Austrian Boiled Wool and Leather Trim Alpine Gloves

Gloves arrived packaged really well with a note from the maker. I wanted to love these very much. The sizing is perfect and the leather palm very well made. I did not, however, find them very warm given the money spent. I think they are good everyday gloves in mildly cold temps but I needed a spare set of gloves for my trip to Greenland and these did not keep me very warm while walking around town on windy days, even with technical glove liners, and even when above 0 degrees. Just too much penetration thru the knitting. I ended up using a pair of wool gloves from REI I got for $12 (which won't last as long but served my needs better). Sorry Dachstein- I sooooooo wanted to love you.

I got them for my mother. She was disappointed. not as warm as they looked.

Nice and warm for the cold winter days. The leather palms help in dealing with carrying packages and stuff . They are very thick and not ideal for driving or being too coordinated , but, they are meant to keep you warm on a cold winter day. I'm happy with my purchase.

These are outstanding quality gloves! The wool is very very thick and the gloves cover half of my forearm. I wore them when it was about 45 degrees out and my hands may have been a little on the hot side once I got moving around - that's a good thing.

I bought a pair of these in December of 2018. Noticed right away that the leather trim was not sewn on straight in relation to my finger placement. It wasn't off that much, so I didn't think much of it. Proceeded to use the gloves for driving, walking the dog, occasionally shoveling snow, etc. These gloves were never used in a hard strenuous activity. Here we are in April of 2020, and a hole has already worn though on the tip of one of the gloves. Used for 2 seasons, and now junk. I paid $79.99 for this pair, and expected a bit more longevity out of them. For comparison. Around the same time I purchased a nice pair of leather trim ragwool gloves for my wife to use from another vendor. Her gloves look and function flawless for half the price. Cannot recommend.
