Two notes short an octave, this clef is bound to be treble. No musical ability is necessary. (1987) Object: Remove large ring. TAVERN PUZZLES 100% Handcrafted in the USA The Tavern Puzzle Collection is divided into eight groups. Group 1 is the simplest. The groups become progressively more difficult, ending with the most complex, Group 8. Group 1 Reproductions of antique designs, with only a few steps. Our first and most familiar designs. Group 2 Original designs. Basic, with only a few steps. Fun and easy to learn. Group 3 More complex, with multi-step solutions. Straightforward, making them easy to teach and share. Group 4 This group is also multi-step, but the moves are more interactive. Fun to demonstrate if you know how. Group 5 Multi-step sequences with close tolerances. More perseverance than luck is needed. Group 6 Be wary of false steps in the layered solutions. For the true collector. Group 7 Requires a lot of concentration to master the large number of moves, and to handle the flexible chain. Group 8 Our two most difficult (SP, FR), plus a reproduction of the oldest known puzzle in the world. All puzzles are made from 6mm steel; some include wooden beads. Dimensions: 8” – 14” long, 4” – 6” wide. Weight: 12 – 20 ounces. Tavern Puzzles are reproductions of a type of puzzle traditionally forged by blacksmiths to amuse their friends at country taverns and inns. Keeping with tradition, a museum-trained blacksmith from Long Island has reproduced some of these antique designs as well as his own original designs. All the puzzles are handcrafted and individually assembled. Each puzzle is mechanical in nature; removal of the object piece does not rely on force or trickery.

Fantastic mechanical puzzles
I really love the entire line of Tavern Puzzles. They are made to last even with lots of use and abuse. I've collected these for many years and I've just started to give some as gifts. I highly recommend all of the Tavern Puzzles to anyone who enjoys mechanical puzzles.

This was great for my students!
I used this with one of my 4th grade students and he loved it! This puzzle was a great way to practice spacial and reasoning skills. This is a very smart student, however he has trouble with math and reading due to dyslexia and this has caused him to have very low self esteem in regards to his intellect. Using this puzzle allowed me to show him that he has the ability to succeed in difficult tasks that require intellect. He was so proud when others couldn't solve the puzzle and would say he must be smart! Eventually he ended up working with other students to teach them how to solve these puzzles! This puzzle is a Group 3 and while I did use it with my students, it was not the first one I used. I purchased a Group 1 and 2 puzzle to get them started. After a few weeks of using each puzzle I would introduce the next level to help build the skill.
