A mighty fine writing implement!
What Can be said about this pen? I’ll start with it’s only downside, at least for the stainless steel version that I purchased. This is quite a heavy pen. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, but it does make writing with it difficult if you’re the type that happens to write against a wall or when laid, which I find myself doing from time to time. If your writing in a conventional manner, that is on a table or other horizontal surface, then this pen feels perfect. You don’t need to press down on the page as you write, the weight of the pen does that for you allowing you to effortlessly glide the pen across the paper. The build quality is perfect, I had no defects or problems with my pen. The tip is removable, but you wouldn’t tell by looking at it as the seem between the tip and the body is so well hidden that you may find yourself unscrewing it to see the split for the pure pleasure of it. The clip is very tight and secure when hooked on your pocket, but do not try to bend it open slightly like I did, I very quickly removed the clip and bent it back carefully because as little that I did actually bent the clip, I found it slipping out of my pocket afterwards. The ink cart is your standard ink cart. Buy a good quality Parker style cart and you’ll love writing with this pen every time it touches paper. In all, the solid, machined stainless steel pen is amazing, and a great addition to your everyday carry. I use a pen everyday at work, and being constantly tired of people breaking the pens or putting dried up pens in my area drives me crazy, and let’s face it, you’re not going to forget this pen in a hurry!

A hefty bulk but solid and satisfying.
The first thing that struck me about this pen is the weight - it feels a little unwieldy to begin with but you soon get to grips with it. This is a quality product that will not let you down - the 'bolt-action' is very satisfying and I am certain that I could click it a million times before it gave in. The quality of the writing is very good - it glides across the page really well meaning that you can allow your natural handwriting flow to come through. The clip is very snug - I have lost so many pens due to feeble clips so I was very pleased to see that this one was going nowhere. I recommend this pen to anyone.

Heavy duty pen
When this pen arrived I found it to be rather heavier and chunkier than I was expecting. This is not a criticism. If you're a tactile person that likes things with a bit of weight to them then you can't do much better than this. The workmanship seems to be very good, with the forward end in place it's impossible to see the join giving the pen body a seamless appearance. The action is satisfying with the spring offering a decent amount of resistance and holds the cartridge firmly in both positions. It wasn't cheap by any means, but in this case the old adage that you get what you pay for seems to hold true.

It’s a heavy pen
It’s a very well manufactured pen, and also quite heavy. The balance point is just in front of the end of the clip which is something I’m getting used to. It writes very smoothly.

Great quality for price, just a few expected minor flaws.
Carbon fibre is quite unusual to see on a pen and this real matt finished carbon fibre looks very nice too, mine did have a green fleck stuck in the resin but this is normally hidden by the clip. The clip does move a little bit around the join but not enough to cause me any concern. The bolt has a nice feeling once worn in although initially rough, it also has quite a loud 'Chick-Chink' sound which can be both satisfying but also avoidable if you want it to be quiet, not as slick as my Tactile Turn pen's bolt but it has a different feel overall anyway and at a much more affordable price. The bolt unfortunately cannot be disassembled so I would try to keep this pen away from anything like sand or dirt which may get stuck inside it. When I first recieved it the tip felt too easy to unscrew but it has gotten tighter since and hasn't fallen off, it is also slightly wider than the CFRP body but this is not too bad. It is also a very heavy pen, perhaps my heaviest and the long taper on the tip makes it a bit hard to hold on to sometimes but not too bad once you get used to it but I couldn't use it for more than notes. Overall Tactile Turn pens are a huge way ahead in terms of quality and design in my opinion but for the price this pen has really impressed me.

Reassuringly heavy yet comfortable to write with
I decided to get a nicer, more expensive pen in the hope I won't be so careless with it and decided on this one and I don't regret it. It is heavy and I really like that, for me I find it easy to write with but you may prefer something lighter, in which case I say look at the carbon fiber version of this which I also considered. The bolt action is satisfying and the pen feels like a weapon. will definitely last a lifetime just don't lose it!

Sleek, high quality ballpoint pen
I chose the aluminium and carbon fibre design and the quality and finish is really good. The carbon fibre is matt finish so smooth to the touch and compliments the aluminium tip and base. The pen has a weighty feel if you are used to using disposable biros, however you quickly get used to that. The bolt action deployment is solidly made and yet easy to use with just your thumb. I also like how smooth the ink flows compared to many disposable ball point pens. In all, very happy!

As an EDC enthusiast for over a decade. It’s worth it.

Stylo original ! Son poids surprend mais il offre une excellente prise en main. La cartouche d’encre n’offre pas une écriture fluide. J’ai mis à la place une cartouche gel de Parker, bien meilleure en terme de qualité d’écriture.

Hey, I'm sure there are more expensive, maybe even better made pens (I doubt that really) but right out of the box, this zirconium version is built like a tank, weighs in at 2.4 Oz and VERY well made and absolutely no seam, it was instantly my favorite pen. I'm a fan of the gel pens and found that I could order gel Refills instead of ink. Long story short, I've already ordered 2 more. Great job Bastion.
