The cable does what it says it does. So cool!A USB 3.0 device does not use USB 2.0 lanes. My Elgato capture card uses only USB 3.0 lanes, meaning USB 2.0 lanes are not used. Why not utilize the unused USB 2.0 lanes as well?I ran out of USB-A ports on my motherboard, so I used this splitter to connect my USB 3.0 Elgato capture card and a USB 2.0 hub. Both devices work perfectly simultaneously!It is very important to note that USB 2.0 devices (like mouse and keyboard) will not work on the blue, "SS" plug of this adapter, so don't expect a mouse and a keyboard to work together using this splitter. (You need a USB hub for a mouse and a keyboard!) On the flip side, a USB 3.0 device (such as a USB flash drive) will run at a slower USB 2.0 speed if you plug it into the white, normal USB logo side.I highly recommend this splitter only if you can differentiate between USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 devices. It's so cool.

This pair of USB splitter cables work very well.They work exactly as described in the ad.My female blue USB jack is connected to a Nextion LCD via a CP2102 Module USB to TTL 5PIN Serial Converter Adapter Module.My female white USB jack is connected to an Arduino board.The male blue end is attached to a 10,000 mAh 5V power pack.I use these mostly for powering a remote control that has an Arduino board and Nextion LCD screen using a 10,000 mAh 5V power pack.If I have to reprogram (transfer data) to the Arduino, I move the blue male end from my power pack to a USB port on my PC.These splitters work perfectly.I noticed some poor reviews on this product, but I think they are not correct because these are splitters and not hubs. Splitters were originally designed to supply extra voltage to external USB disk drives and only one(1) of the split ends transferred data while both ends supplied voltage. Splitters do not make a single USB port into multiple USB ports for data. Only a hub will allow concurrent (not simultaneous) to multiple devices on one port.I am very pleased with this product and appreciate the 2 pack in case there is some kind of issue.

I tried plugging in my 3.1 external drive to the blue female USB 3.0, but it didn't work. I was about to return it but then tried on the white female 2.0 side and it does work. Blue side does work for power. Annoying, but it works I guess.
