Nick Saglimbeni's Mastering Retouching 7-Disc DVD Series

It is a really REALLY good 7-disc series! He teaches you A LOT of stuff you WONT learn anywhere else! if your thinking about buying it, BUY IT!! It's 10,000% worth it!

For beginners only- this is not for professional retouching. Very disappointing

I think this is the first review I've ever written on Amazon...although I've been a Prime member for several years. This Retouching Series is that good. Some time ago, after having read probably 6 books on Retouching, I still wasn't happy with my skills so I started researching which photographer seemed to have the best skills in the USA. I kept returning to Nick's work...but at that time, this DVD series hadn't yet been created so I contacted him and asked for a 1 to 1 training session over the course of 2 days at his studio in Los Angeles. I chuckle at myself, because I paid a few thousand dollars for the ability to hijack his time for those hours...but my retouching results experienced light years' leap ahead after Nick's tutelage.Fast forward a few years, and I buy Nick's DVD series. Ugh....I could have saved Thousands of $$ were this DVD series available! Nick put all the concepts and more (yes, more) into these DVDs. And it is more organized and clear than my private instruction session with him. I've been using his techniques now for the last few years for the photos in my business...and our work stands out as higher quality and more eye catching than any of the competitors in our beauty space.My journey to acquire retouching skills was much more expensive, and much more arduous than it needed to be...well, at least than yours needs to be now that this DVD set is available. Finally, this series is just plain fun to watch! This is the only retouching video I've seen (and I've bought or watched dozens) that doesn't bore me to tears! Nick's commentary is engaging and just plain funny.

As a high school student and a beginner in the photography world, this DVD helped in so many ways to improve my work. Being so easy to follow and giving you all the tools you need to grasp each concept that is taught, this tutorial was simply the perfect way to take on the world of retouching. Having known very little about retouching before watching these tutorials, I can say that each technique that is brought to you in these DVDs has helped to improve the final product of all my favorite shots an ample amount.Each DVD is focused on a different technique, or concept that is needed to post-produce the perfect photo. Each tutorial is incredibly easy to follow, and Nick's narrative keeps you interested and listening. Along with that, they even provide you with the photos he's using to teach the techniques, so you can follow him step-by-step, to completely and all around grasp that specific technique.The techniques taught in these DVDs are so easy to grasp and they truly do make for a better photo. Each DVD deals with a different model, and the all vary in skin-tone, hair color, etc. This tutorial truly helps to apply everything you are taught to your own work, no matter what it may be.This was the perfect way learn the ropes of retouching and bring my photography to a whole new level. I am more than excited to see what Nick has in store in the near future.

I got this series after following Nick's work for a few years. I will say this series is a beast, make sure you have time to watch all of it throughly as it covers a lot of information! Nick is the man when it comes to skin retouching. There are lots of techniques out there but some take hours to do, this is a quick and straight forward quicker approach that works great on 90 percent of the photos I work on. I don't shoot/retouch many glamour images but the same skin/color/fix techniques carry over the sports/fitness work I do. Ive saved a lot of time in post production thanks to this series so I would highly recommend it to anyone that takes photos of people. I use techniques learned in this series almost everyday on the images I retouch. This retouching series by Nick really took my work to a whole new level! Before Mastering Retouching i would of rated my retouching skills about 2/10, after mastering retouching i became so confident with retouching! It's been a year since completing Mastering Retouching and I can honestly say that the skills and techniques i learnt from this have boosted my retouching and now i would rate my retouching skills at around 8/10!!THANKS FOR THE AWESOME PRODUCT NICK!!!
