Fit: Based on my rental climbing shoe experience and the what I read online, I drilled my size down to 11.5. The shoe is a good fit for my size 10 D width feet. The toes are slightly scrunched together and the heel is cupped pretty firmly. Usage: Climbing articles say it isn't supposed to be comfy to walk on and that your feet will want a break after wearing it for an extended period. These check out with me. I don't feel any discomfort while climbing but walking is a chore. I took the shoes off after twenty minutes of climbing to give my feet a break for a few minutes. After that it's back on and back on the boulder.

Got 1 pair lace and the other velcro. Both seem to fit the same both 11.5usa. Velcro is great for getting the shoes on and off fast. It also let's your foot move around more while climbing increasing the chance of blisters. Lace version takes longer to get on and off but gives your foot more stability while climbing and a better fit. I can wear both variations all day. They are comfortable shoes as far as climbing goes. With that being said, I'm returning the velcro version because I don't see the need to take my shoes off between sets since they are so comfortable. My aggressive evolve phantoms are a different story. I prefer velcro with an aggressive uncomfortable shoe that has to be removed as soon as possible. These blackdiamond are extremely moderate and are way more comfortable...go with the laces for your comfortable shoes and velcro for your aggressive shoes.
