Surprisingly awesome.
Bought this for my retail work cutting packaging, ect. Color me impressed Civivi. So far I've purchased this knife and the mini Praxus and im impressed with both. The ki-v is one of the best budget knife options out there, with very little to complain about.Pros-The blade shape. I wasn't convinced on this sort of tanto-edge shape, but it is no slouch. The edge. I don't think I've ever purchased a knife for sub $75 that came shaving sharp from the factory, but this thing shaved the hair right off of my arm easily. No sharpening required out of the box, for me. Your experience may vary depending on who was on the grinder that day at the shop, but mine came razor sharp.Fantastic g10 handle slabs, with good ergonomics. The front flip is a little stiff at first but after 15 minutes of flipping it's smooth as butter.Clip is stiff, which is good.Extremely light, which it should be for a small knife.Cons-This knife does not have a traditional lock. There is a detent where the blade will "lock" when the blade is extended, but a little pressure on the top of the blade will push it out of alignment. Not the biggest deal, especially because you won't be bushcrafting or batoning a knife this small, but it isn't as sturdy as a knife with a liner lock, ect.Pocket clip isn't reversible for tip down carry, again it's a small knife so there isn't really room for it anyways, but I prefer tip down carry. The gimping on the blade isn't really as rough as I'd prefer, my finger can slide over it really easily.Overall, this knife is fantastic, I'd absolutely buy another. I'll be purchasing more Civivi in the future.

Small but useful!
I love this little knife. Its sliplock design (no lock to undo when you close it. Just a little extra force). It's compact, with a unique blade that's more like a box cutter in how it handles. Cuts through boxes and tape very easily. Can be used as a psurdo-exacto knife in some applications. The shape of the blade makes it easier to control while cutting in my opinion. It's pretty light and fits in the coin pocket of your jeans. Continues to feel solid after moderate use (mostly cardboard)It's comfortable enough. But because of it's size and shape it does take a little bit of getting used to. There's not a whole lot of grip, but once you find the sweet spot (usually with index finger behind the blade) it can be used very effectively used for more than you would expect for it's size.

One tragic flaw, but a nice little knife
THE GOODThe blade is nice and sharp - perfect for opening boxes. I like how I can open the knife with one hand. I work at an office and I open boxes all the time - this knife is perfect for that - teeny tiny, not intimidating at all, but is sharp and reliable. It is a great little utility knife. This has become part of my craft knife set and is great for when you need something sharp, but more substantial than an exacto.SAFETY CONSIDERATIONSIt is secure, but as it states it's a double-detent, so it does not fully lock. It is not spring-assisted, but can be flicked open fairly easily, it stays securely closed until you open it. You can close it with a little pressure, but it's secure enough to stay in place during use. It's very small, so be careful when opening it as the blade's tip can catch your palm if you are holding it in your hand - it's not enough to cut you, but enough for you to notice. You should be careful with any knife, but especially so with this one.WHAT TO DO IN V2This knife is keychain knife sized, but has no real mounting point for a keychain. This is a tragic flaw since this knife is excellent and I do not want to lose it... but I'm clumsy and it's tiny, so I fear that I eventually will lose this knife. I'd like to see the same exact knife, just packaged with an alternate clip that's just a loop so that I can securely attach it to my keys. That one change would make this little knife perfect.

Good lil knife smaller then expected
Cool knife shape, . Pros it’s concealable, it has a flipper which is great for deployment however wish they’d make the flipper tab bigger so there’s more for your thumb or fore finger to catch. It’s really small super lightweight like I said cool blade shape kiridashi kinda wharncliffe style with good jumping on the back.Good detent slip joint makes it easy to close, good handle material g10 pretty smooth. Does the job cutting paper, boxes bags, twine fun to play with. Cons: its small with only a 1.55 blade, it doesn’t have a lanyard hole you’d think for a knife this size it would have a lanyard hole to help draw it out of your pocket rather then a deep pocket clip. The g10 is really smooth not alot of grip, it’s a slip joint meaning it doesn’t lock may be a con. It’s so light weight you can easily lose it. Overall I’d say the Kiv is a decent lil knife does light work not gonna scare anybody if you used it in public fun to play with unique blade design. So much so I also ordered the kivs bigger brother the kiv 2 with a bigger 2.52 blade and a liner lock in all black so excited to compare the 2. Civivi makes some interesting and versatile knives which has made me a new fan
