Love it!
This barrel came recommended to me by a friend who's had one for over two years with no complaints. It was easy to install and very attractive (my neighbors asked if it's real terracotta). Unlike some other reviewers I have no issues with the spout handle - it works just fine. The instructions were also very comprehensive and easy to follow, which I appreciated.

Nice looking barrel with a major design flaw. Plan a trip to the hardware store.
There were a few hiccups in installation, but overall I'm really pleased with this rain barrel and I can't wait for it to rain! Everything is working fine in leak testing so I expect it will perform. It has some flaws- some minor and one major, but nothing a modestly handy person can't fix.The good:It looks very nice. The terracotta color and texture are pretty realistic so I had no hesitation in putting it on my front porch. The seams were water tight and it sat level. Based on my observations of DH attaching the various fittings, installation was not too difficult. By far, the hardest part was rigging a downspout diverter and overflow solution (neither are included with this product). It has two sealed pipe "stems" just below the lid so you can connect to other barrels and/or add an overflow hose if you desire. Standard sump pump tubing was the perfect size for the overflow. *NOTE: The pipe stems are heavy duty and are completely sealed so you will need a hacksaw to cut the ends off if you want to attach anything. The meh:This could be a good thing or a bad thing- The barrel is very light weight which makes it easy to move around. It is light however because the plastic is thin. While attaching the spigot, the plastic sides of the barrel flexed in a most alarming way and I hope the seams hold when the barrel is completely filled. Also, the holes in the included plastic filter are too big to keep insects out, but the filter is removable so I was able to add a circle of window screen underneath and screw the filter back down. Also (I think this is probably true of most barrels), the water pressure is low through the bottom hose and the spigot on the side. I will definitely have to fill a watering can for my containers and hanging plants. The spigot is also pretty low to the ground so I decided to put a couple layers of pavers under the barrel to better accommodate a watering can. I wanted it to sit directly on the slab, so that was a little disappointing. Also, the planting well in the lid has no drain holes so it would definitely fill up with water if the barrel wasn't under a covered area. The bad:Other reviewers are 100% correct. The spigot for the side of the barrel is not sized correctly. It's too short, and when it's screwed in to the proper position, the spigot handle runs into the side of the barrel so you can't even turn it. Honestly, it's just plain silly and the manufacturer really needs to address this. You will have to buy either a new spigot that is appropriately sized or some kind of extension so the handle is further away from the side of the barrel. I bought a commonly available garden hose adapter at Home Depot, which gave it just enough extra length so the handle can make a complete turn.

Attractive rain barrel
Very attractive, lightweight rain barrel.Looks like a piece of pottery, sturdy and well made. Very happy with the product. Several suggestions though for its seller. Several parts -hose, spigot are inside the barrell . And that makes sense if you would put a sticker on top saying that. Confusion is because the filter is screwed in and the screws must be removed to get the parts out. No rattle when you try to shake the rain barrel. Also the two white plastic non cut optional openings on side may be a challenge to cut for some. I will buy again, good product.

PROBLEMS SHOWED UP DURING USE!
This rain barrel worked fine....until it didn't. After a heavy rainstorm, the barrel filled up near the top. The next day it was wet underneath the barrel. After getting what was left of the water out of the barrel, I took apart the fitting underneath that hooks up to the hose. Come to find, the threads were cracked and the water was bypassing the fitting. We paid a lot of money for this rain barrel and NOW IT LEAKS!!!WHAT NOW???????

Very Easy to put together
This rainbarrel is nicely made. The components installed with ease. Took 5 minutes. I like the color because it will accent the deck that I will be installing. The planter can come off so you can put your soil and plant inside. The container holds 60 gallons of water.
