I received the Mylar Tent on time as promised. However! when I took the product out of the package it did not look like that of the picture on the package product as advertise same thing as advertise. That was also for a friend, and he said it served its purpose.

Great and helpful read
Really found the helpful information very worthwhile in putting together my own bug out bags, and plan for emergencies.

It Really Works
Before I ever have to use an emergency shelter, I want to know that it works, so I went camping in my backyard to test it. This tent comes with a cord and the tent but no pouch. It's not something people would reuse, because it doesn't fold easily back into the original compact size for carrying around.SIZEThis shelter is much longer than I expected. I'm 5'5", and I could fully stretch out in it. It was roomier than I thought it would be inside. I'm sure my husband could fit inside with me, though he didn't want to try. My nine year-old daughter came in for a few minutes and we were quite comfortable. The material fell in towards me. I suppose I could weigh it around with things to stay more taught. It did that a little in the areas around my upper body, but I preferred it falling inwards for the warmth. Instead of a tent, I made myself a cave.DURABILITYMy dog jumped on me from outside the tent. My husband thought she'd rip it, but it's durable considering it's so thin and lightweight. No, she didn't rip it despite her repeated attempts, and the shelter survived the night.TEMPERATUREI brought an indoor/outdoor weather station with me into the tent and left the outdoor sensor just outside the tent. The outdoor temps fell from 68 °F to 47 °F. Inside, it remained consistently 16 degrees warmer than it was outside. When it was 47 °F outside, it was 63 °F inside. The weather wasn't windy but there would be an occasional breeze. When it shifted and blew into the tent, it would be a little cold. There are no doors, but it's a floppy tent, and I could push the openings so they collapse a little more inwards if I wanted. I let it fall in a little.WATERPROOFThe grass was wet but I remained completely dry. It's waterproof, but water can still get in through the big openings on either end. I didn't wait for the sprinklers to come on. When they did, that's exactly what happened. It got wet inside. Users would have to find a way to position the tent to keep water from getting inside those openings when it rains. Close up the openings some, but remember you still need air.OVERALL IMPRESSIONYes, this works. I'm realistic when it comes to survival gear. It's not intended to keep me cozy, but it will keep me warm enough when those few degrees may make a difference between life and death. My son's a scout, and I'm going to have him pack one for his deep woods hikes. This product was provided for review by Cliq Products.

Great In A Pinch - Highly Recommended
This Mylar Emergency Tent is surprisingly durable and could be a life saver if stranded overnight in cold weather. We are "casual preppers", in that we keep a well stocked emergency kit in each of our vehicles and maintain a separate "bug out bag" for each of our family members. This Emergency Shelter is well worth the minimal size and and weight it adds to a kit. Here are my observations:+ Quality; surprisingly well made and durable, I will get at least one more use out of it beyond my initial testing+ Functionality; the included cord allows a tent structure to be made by running it through the body and attaching each end to a tree+ Warmth; these work on the same principle as "space blankets" (which I also keep on hand) and does a great job at keeping body heat inOverall, this tent is a great addition to an emergency kit and should offer some peace of mind when traveling in cold weather.Highly Recommended!CFHNote: Sample provided for review

A great addition to any emergency kit
If you are a hiker, in my opinion, this tent is an absolute MUST anytime you go for a hike.First off, it comes packaged so that it's absolutely flat and takes up very little space. So it is very easy to pack.Second, it is made of Mylar which is a very thin material that can do amazing things. It holds in heat and can be the difference between hypothermia or not when stranded in a cold climate. If you're stranded in a warm climate, the reflective material on the outside will deflect the suns rays and help regulate your body temperature.Third, I like the size of it. It's not so big as to be unmanageable to put up but not so small that only one person fits. It's big enough for two adults to be able to honker down for the night if they have to.Finally, it's quite easy to put up. It's something that you can do by yourself if you have to. If there's someone else with you, it'll only take a few minutes to set up.I like the product a lot. In fact, I now have it in my earthquake kit (I live in Los Angeles). If the big one hits, it's a good place to honker down for a night or two if push comes to shove.I received a sample for review.
