It's good to carry a spare
This hitch pin does everything it's supposed to. Well-made and the price is right. Anyone who pulls trailers should keep an extra of these in their toolbox.

Simple Trailer Receiver Pin
Very durable and the keeper pin is quite sturdy. I bought this pin because the description says "2 or 2-1/2-Inch Receiver". The outside dimension of my receiver is 2-1/2 inches. This will actually fit a receiver about 3-1/2 inches wide (maybe slightly more). This is a little longer than I actually need.

Bought my first truck in August 2019. Towed my first load this weekend - a Honda Pioneer 500 that I purchased from a dealer 2 hours away. Truck is equipped with a class IV hitch receiver. I bought a cheap adjustable hitch and ball from Harbor Freight, rated to 5000 lbs. The adjustable hitch didn't come with a pin for securing it to the receiver so I bought this one. It looks exactly like the pins used on the adjustable hitch. The total load was a little over 2000 lbs. and there were no surprises in my roughly 4 hour trip. I'll probably invest in a locking pin for extra piece of mind but this works for now and the price is right. Now, if I can just figure out how to properly back up a small single axle trailer, I'll be in business...

Exactly what I wanted to replace the rusty pin I had been using with my hitch. Working perfectly for me and holding up well, resisting rusting like my last one. The cotter pin makes a firm connection through the hole. I think it works better than the ones with just a groove.

I needed a hitch pin ASAP to transport bikes on a rack. I had a locking pin on order but it was going to take longer to arrive. This Pin by Curt arrived fast, was affordable, and its well built. Going to keep it in the truck as a spare just in case.
