Great tuner to help learn fingering.
Love this tuner for my violin. I can put it on just tuning hor the continuous mode that registers each note. Since I’m new to the instrument I use it to make sure my fingers on on the right notes. Use to use. Easy to read and adjust my placement for correction. Easy to set up. Easy to turn on and off. Fits well below the scroll around my D/A string pegs. I’m also using the Trala app that I live and it’s helping learn at my pace. Very user friendly. The app and the tuner work well together. Would buy again. I was using my phone app but I wanted to be able to have my head in the right direction while holding the violin and read the music. The phone was getting in the way too much.

Spot on accuracy!
As a novice violinist, achieving the perfect tune is crucial, and this tuning tool delivers precision that has garnered approval from my wife, an accomplished musician, as well as my violin instructor and a separate electronic tuning device. It has proven to be a true time-saver, effortlessly clamping onto the pegbox with speed and ease. The visual clarity it provides is exceptional, even for me without my glasses. Its compact size is a standout feature, seamlessly fitting into my violin case for convenient portability during travels. Overall, this tuning accessory has significantly enhanced my practice sessions and performances, making it an indispensable tool for any violinist, whether beginner or seasoned.

Handy, inexpensive, with many small flaws
The tuner folds to be small and fit into a case. It works even when other nearby instruments are playing. However, 1. the buttons are small for adult fingers; 2. the top button is multi-function, so if you give it too short of a press to turn off, instead it resets A to 430, then you have to cycle through multiple frequencies to get back to 440 and a long press to turn it off. There should be 3 buttons. 3. the symbols on the buttons identifying function are too small to read. I put paint on the top button to identify on and off (plus the other things it does); 4. it only sets 4 note frequencies, if you want the E string tuned to C for roots music, you are out of luck. I will eventually buy a more expensive tuner without these flaws.

Nice!
The device is set up for violin, viola, cello, or ‘chromatic’ - which means you can use it to tune everything from a bowed instrument to a banjo to a flute. Easy to use and it seems durable, so kids could use this, too. It also came with a battery and an EXTRA battery, which I appreciated. Playing in tune is critical - this will help any student. You can also set it ar 440hz or choose from a range from 430 to 450hz, it isn’t automatically going to just give you a 440 tuning and nothing else - this feature is useful if you are playing historical instruments, or trying to match up with instruments tuned a bit over or under 440.

It’s alright
I mean it’s alright. It works but sometimes it shows other letters like in my case when I play g (on viola) it shows low c and I don’t know why but it just glitches out like that a little and it is also plastic so it doesn’t seem durable. But I mean what do you excpect for 20 bucks. I mean it might last me half a year max. Could get 5 stars if it was rechargeable and also extremely accurate. It is accurate but sometimes it says it’s sharp or flat when it’s not

Great Violin Tuner Fits over Peg Box
I have been using a different tuner for my violin but decided to try this one for my practice violin. It was a great purchase and fits extremely well. The ONLY drawback is I have to take it off of my violin when putting my violin back in the case. I expected this when I made the purchase, so it isn’t that big of a deal.

SO helpful during the pandemic!
My daughter (11 years old) has to do her violin lessons with her instructor over FaceTime... which means no more in person visits, and hence no tuning the violin every week during the regular lesson. So her violin was getting out of tune and it was hard for her during her practice the other days of the week. If you have a kid learning violin, you know how frustrating it can be for them already, and adding in an out-of-tune string makes it much more discouraging. Well, i bought this and it works PERFECTLY. Helps her get her strings in tune, and a big smile on her face. She loves it, and that's what matters.

I would not trust this product
I would not trust this product after seeing it and using it. It doesn’t fit, and the tuning is off. I returned it because it did not arrive as described. There are far better tuners out there. Skip this one.

Very good for tuning the violin.

Fonctionne bien , facile, mais trouver le bon endroit pour le fixer sur le violon n’est pas évident pour qu’il tienne bien.

This was very easy to use for me. I have a tendency to break strings since I am new to the violin. But I find it picks up the sound better than most apps on my phone, for tuning. Even letting me know which string I am tuning specifically making it easier to find the right note. This also works for other string types like viola, cello, and bass. Would recommend.

This is a really nice digital tuner. It has built in modes to lock it to the notes of the instruments in a string quartet: Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass. But since the violin and mandolin have the exact same tuning it works equally well for my Mando as well. This got me thinking. Would it work on my 7 string Ibanez electric guitar in chromatic mode? It turns out that chromatic mode makes it work exactly like every other tuner on the market, so the answer is yes. You could happily buy this for your guitar as well. Just make sure it is set to chromatic mode when you use it. The letters and light indicators are very large and readable which my 48 year old eyeballs for much appreciated. The clip is also cleverly set at a 90 degree rotation to the screen. Why don't all digital tuners do this? It makes it much more easy to read than most other tuners.
