Great for Do-it-Youself - Updated 2023
Update Nov 2023: I've had these in the ground for 5 years and replaced the inspection cartridge & wood blocks once. I inspected them twice the first year and with no hits, I now inspect them once a year. They recommend inspecting them much more often than that but for me it's a lot of work with many of them embedded in the landscape plants. The only issue I have is that the wood blocks and cartridges tend to rot out due to the wet conditions in the plastic cages. They are buried in the ground, we get some heavy rains, I regularly water the landscape and my soil is not the best for draining water. I should replace the cartridges more often but they are a little pricey. Overall, I am still happy them. Original Review Mar 2018: Just installed a box of 10. I am in a 6 year old house that was termite treated during construction. No evidence or suspicion of termites. I just want some added confidence because I don't think the chemicals they use during construction are effective after a few years. 1. The box contained the stations as shown (pre-assembled) with a 2 page installation sheet, which does not include the poison cartridge, which I think is smart. I don't want a bunch of expensive poison in my yard going to waste if I don't need it. 2. I also think it is smart not include the spider for easily opening the cap. I bought one $26 spider separately. I need 30 stations (3 boxes of 10) to go around my house. If each box had included the spider, I would have paid for two that I did not need. Also, you don't really need the spider since you can open them by turning the cover with a screw driver. The spider just makes it easy. 3. Each station came pre-assembled with the plastic cage, a plastic cap, a block of cut wood in the bottom and the plastic cartridge of cellulose 4. I bought a 2.75" dia flower bulb auger (

Excellent product
These termites bait stations are the same used by different companies. I can do the monitoring myself and save many hundreds of dollars a year. I am very pleased with my purchase.

Had termite Larvae in one after a few weeks.
I saw flying termites, so I purchased these. I did get 10, with 6 of the poison cartridges and the opening tool. It was a set for $285.50. Yes, they are expensive. I purchased a 3 inch auger, that you can use in a regular drill separately, which made them easy to install. I checked them after a few weeks, maybe 6 weeks? There was no active in them except for one and when I opened it termite larvae were EVERYWHERE, by the time I ran in, got my camera and the poison cartridge most of them had gone. Apparently they are very sensitive to light/sun. I had to pull the bait cartridge out with a screw driver, but needle nose pliers will work. I replaced the bait cartridge with the poison cartridge no news on how that is going yet. I plan to install another cartridge fairly close to this one, I will probably just go ahead and put the poison cartridge in, instead of waiting to see activity. In the first picture, when I first opened that entire area was covered with larvae. I will update to say how it went later.

Well Made
Well made, definitely better that the bug companies stations set around my home. Cheaper than they're service too. They only come once a year to check and charge $400. Granted I lost my termite bond but let's face it, they probably wouldn't pay for any damage if it did occur. I can check them every month and add poison if I see any activity.

Termite solution like a pro
These tramp are the same that Terminix having use in their clients. These tramp are only to check if we have termites in home, if we have it you have to buy the poison in Amazon that also have the same that Terminix used. I just have installed it in my home, the price in around $16 each and the poison is around $9 each
