Biddeford Blankets Micro Mink Sherpa Electric Heated Blanket with Digital Controller, King, Sage

***UPDATED FROM 5 STARS TO 1 STAR** and I would give 0 stars if I could. We got about 2 good months use of this until it burned out. Like literally, smoking and melting plastic type of burning out. I'm glad it didn't start my house on fire. It's under warranty so I started the return process only to find out that I'll still need to pay shipping. Shipping on a massive heavy blanket like this will cost me like half of what I paid for the blanket to begin. It's not my fault this product is so faulty and is a fire hazard! Why should I pay shipping???This blanket saved my life! Moved from a warmer climate to the snowy tundra, needless to say- I use this constantly. The only downside is it calls my name during the day when I should be being productive instead of getting cozy on level 7. I've also washed it 3 times, it held up well.

The sage green was prettier than I expected (I bought it because it was the least expensive) and it is incredibly soft! Heavy enough to stay evenly distributed on the bed, but it doesn't suffocate you. Having two controls that operate each side of the blanket independently is great because my hubby likes a warmer bed than I do (we got the queen size) it's well worth the money to not get into an ice cold bed. It seems to heat evenly so far too!Edit: the auto off doesn’t seem to work though

I was looking for a reasonably priced electric blanket to replace a Sunbeam that we had. I looked at the reviews, saw that a few people had immediate trouble with the electronics, but most were good. I should not have taken the chance. Within ONE HOUR of the blanket being plugged in, the display stopped working. We unplugged it and the plug had a burnt smell. Apparently the electronics fried immediately. I did see other reviewers had the same issue - such a pain. The only plus is the return process seems easy - UPS will pickup.

I got the blanket, plugged it in and immediately started smelling electrical smoke. The controller is fried. I'm hoping to hear from Biddeford and that they'll replace the wire and controller so I can start over. This sounds like something unusual. I only read one other review that had something like this happen. I don't see another way to contact them other than thru this review process.

I know that electric blankets don’t last forever but given that this was for my 90-year-old mother-in-law who lives in a warm part of California, we figured this would last a long time. After all, how much could she really be using it in the summer? Well, it lasted about a year and a half. I was surprised when she told me that it broke. She is extremely careful with things and has had electric blankets since the 60s. She knows how to care for them. The bottom line is that this is not made well. It looks beautiful, it’s quite soft, but at the end of the day, and electric warming blanket is designed two work electrically. If it doesn’t do that, then it’s just the same as a regular blanket that can be purchased at half the price.

This arrived after I left to go see my daughter in TN. My husband tried it out first and raved about it after using it on the bed as soon as it arrived. I waited until now to review it because I wanted to see how it performed. We have a king size bed and it hangs over the side about 2-3". The heating wire covers the top of the king size bed and stays in place. We haven't constantly had to pull it up stretching the heating wires while making the bed, & I'm hoping this feature will make it last longer than one year like the other two we've purchased in the past couple of years! It's soft as can be and works perfectly! Both of use keep ours on 7 and it really keeps us warm. We love the dual controls! Sleek, and easy to use! The tan color is more like a gold shimmer, and sherpa underneath is so soft and cozy. We love it! I will post again, if it doesn't last long. For now, we love it! It's well worth the price, and we've paid more for another named brand Electric Blankets that stopped working within a year. Keeping our fingers crossed hoping that this one will last for years to come!

I very picky about electric blankets because I live in a cold climate. I've purchased quite a few electric blankets at this point, and this is the only one I love and have purchased 3 of. There are so many other blankets that are cheaper, but they don't get very warm, or they take forever to heat up. This one is no joke, it will heat you up in not time! I use mine more like a mattress pad, in that I place it below the fitted sheet (with the cords connected at the bottom of the bed) so that it stays in place the entire night.Pros:- It has two temperature controls for each side of the bed so that you are your bed partner can pick separate temperature (with the queen size).- This blanket heats up fast! It starts to feel very warm after just a few minutes.- The cords are super long, you can have the plug attached at the bottom of the bed, and length is still long enough to have the controller by your head- The highest heat setting is pretty hot, so you can use it to warm the bed up, and the turn it down to sleep at night with. - It has an auto-off feature. - You can machine wash it by disconnecting the cords- The blanket material is pretty soft (although I have it under my sheets so I don't come in contact with it very often).Cons- This is seriously the only con, and I'm being nitpicky. The buttons on the controller are kind of loud, so they could wake up your bed partner. Also you can't press and hold the buttons to go up or down, so you have to click it for each change which does make quite a bit of noise.

This is my fourth biddeford heated blanket purchase within 2 years. We will be switching to another brand. They are not built for longevity. Two of our blankets have burned out. This one does not stay connected very well. My son fell asleep watching a movie. It melted our remote control.

We really loved this blanket but the heat controls died on one side within about 10 days and then the other ones died within the following week. Super disappointed because we truly did love it. Returned for refund. Really hope they can make them better as I would definitely buy it again.

This heated blanket was very comfortable and I lagged the temperature control and auto shut off feature. However only after a few months of using it the controller stopped working and The blanket would not turn on! Now I will have to purchase a new blanket completely as they don’t sell the remote separately for an Almost $200 blanket you would expect it would last longer than a few months I am very disappointed and would not recommend this to anyone!

This is a very warm blanket even without using the heating. At first I was skeptical because you could really feel the wires, but it has surpassed what I expected. My new favorite thing
