The Most Practical Maternity Coat Option for Me
I hate being cold and I live in NYC where I have to walk around in the cold every day, and all winter long I wear a big North Face down coat that goes down to my knees. I looked at different maternity coats online in a range of prices, and I just never felt like any of them actually looked like they would be warm enough for NYC winter. I figured I would try the extendher so I could just keep wearing my North Face coat, and I've been wearing it for a few months now, in different levels of cold. And - I'm happy to report that is works! I've worn it in below freezing temps and it blocks out the cold nicely and works well with my regular coat. The only drawback is that it is quite large, I wish that they offered a small, medium, large option instead of one size fits all. But the company is still young, maybe they will one day. I'm 37 weeks pregnant now and was a size 8/10 before pregnancy and I still wear the extendher sinched to its smallest size and it still looks a little awkward/ bulky. For a very petite person, it might not be as practical as the wind can blow up into the coat when the extendher is too big, but for me it is definitely the most practical maternity coat option that I found. I know you can find an entire maternity down coat for around the same price, but realistically, I knew it would not be nearly as well made or as warm as my regular coat plus the extendher. And the new coat would have been bulky and overlarge for a couple of months, too, since you have to buy a coat that would be big enough to close around a full term pregnant belly, so really the extendher just makes the most sense. I like that I will be able to baby wear with it next winter, too.

Not ideal but works
When I first got this and tried to clip on my jacket according to instruction, I was very disappointed and wanted to return the item: there is so much material that it converted my jacket into a huge bulky something. I tried adjusting the size using built in strings, but it made the look even more awkward. Then I tried to clip it not to the zipper, but to the inner part of my jacket and it worked and actually looks pretty nice.Pros:- Very good quality material with what seems like water-resistant outer layer.- can be clipped anywhere to the jacket - to any style zipper or even to inner seams of a jacket- can be used both in fall and winter with different jackets, no need to buy extra clothes- lots of room for a bigger personCons- too much room for a smaller person (I'm 5'3" and 120lbs pre-pregnancy). But there are workarounds- the zipper is plastic and not the best quality- somewhat short, works best with small jackets- overpriced for what that is.It's not ideal, but works and since I needed both fall and winter coats, this extender allowed me to save money.

Flawless performance; Arrived just in time for first NYC!
Extendher reviewThis product is amazing! I googled all over the place, and was so happy to come upon the Extendher. I'm especially happy to support a busy mom and family business, as I am a momprenuer as well. The panel and hood came RIGHT IN TIME for New York City's first snow! I tried it on two of my coats - a maternity coat and my regular parka. It fit flawlessly! I love that I can change jackets and still wear my baby comfy warm inside of it. You can tell a lot of product development went into the Extendher and I will be promoting to every mom that I see about this wonderful product. Secret: My husband refused to have me buy a new winter coat for babywearing my 7 mo old. (We have tons of coats and a small apt) I got around his objection with the Extendher!!! It even came with a handwritten note "Stay warm". Thank you for protecting baby on her first rain andSnow! (We did NOT use an umbrella. Only the baby hood)Melissa and Indi in NYC

Heavy
Ive had it for a few weeks now. The material seems very sturdy and well made. It does what it is supposed to do and is easy (not necessarily quick) to assemble. What keeps me from giving it five stars is the weight which is so much that i hesitate to use it and only on the most frigid days. And the bottom clasps snap off with daily movement. It hasnt been too much of an issue but frustrating. My first kid i had something similar but you had to sew on buttons. I thought this would be better but it's 100 percent more expensive and heavier.

Good product but drawbacks
The zipper on this seems to get stuck frequently. The clips come unclipped once in a while but are easy to put back on. I would not buy this again but it’s fine for now.

Good product
Got this just in time for extra cold and windy days. Installation takes some time, but once it’s attached zip up is easy and feels secure. The bungee at the top allows the opening above the LO head, giving excellent protection from the elements while not restricting airflow. My husband and I both really enjoy wearing our baby and are able to do it more often and comfortably with this addition.

Worth every penny!
7 months preggers and this product allows me to wear any of my jackets/coats as it gets colder in New England. Fits fine on my husband's winter coat as well, so he's ready to carry baby this winter too! So easy to put on and change around. Best investment, hands down. Especially considering it works through pregnancy, enables me to continue to wear ALL my favorite coats/jackets, and will be usable by both me and my husband. Worth every penny. Warm and soft inside. Love!!

I think I would have been better off buying a new coat in the bigger size
It was a little shorter than I expected. I also thought it was a lot of money for a zipper and fabric item. It def came in handy this winter but the price was ridiculous. I think I would have been better off buying a new coat in the bigger size.
