Well made and works perfectly with my 27" monitor
This is exactly what I was looking for when I wanted to get my new LG 27" monitor to sit lower on my desktop. This stand is only rated for up to 25" monitors but it worked fine for my 27" as I had no intention of ever mounting it vertically. I have my monitor sitting just 1" off of my desktop so I can see it without needing to tilt my head back and I'm quit happy with it.Others have complained about the heavy and rough base scratching the desk surface but my unit came with a nearly mirror surface plus the bottom had an attached rubber pad, so the monitor sits solid and doesn't move or jiggle, yet it can be easily moved when needed.Installation was a breeze, though I did lay the monitor face down which made things easy and I had no trouble tightening the tilt adjustment with the included allen wrench and all-in-all it's a very well made stand and if I had to do it over, I would buy another one without hesitation. Excellent & Sturdy Product; Very Pleased.
I was hesitant to purchase this monitor stand after reading a number of the negative comments. However, I am glad that I did; it is an excellent, sturdily built product (weighs about the same as my 19-inch combination Monitor/TV) and serves perfectly as a replacement for the OEM non-adjustable base.I agree with the comments about the really poor instruction sheet with regards to tension adjustment. After examining the tension adjustment cover with a loupe it was obvious that it is NOT the circular dome-shape piece that is removable, as some may have thought, but the entire side piece. With regards to the attachment screws, I found that they fit perfectly and were easy to install. I suspect that many people (I won’t mention my wife) do not “back-off” the screws (rotate the screws counter clockwise, with a bit of pressure) to properly engage the start of the threads, thus “cross-threading” and “stripping” the screws, possibly breaking them and/or damaging the monitor threads.

Very solid low profile stand. Does exactly as I wanted it to perform what I wanted it to do (hold my new 21.5" iMac) Little teeny glitch: The instructions/diagrams for adjusting the torque shows using a wrench to adjust the torque but the plastic bag of screws and tools only included an Allen wrench. To use the Allen wrench (which tightens things perfectly) you have to remove the entire black plastic cap (there are two, one one each side) that snaps onto the sides of the arm that attaches to the VESA plate and allow the attached device to tilt. At first it will look like the round plastic center is the piece that needs to be pried off but it's not - the larger black plastic cap pops off easily, exposing the Allen screw underneath.

Bought for 34" Ultra Wide Screen LG monitor (somewhere around 20 lbs). The mount that came with the monitor wouldn't go low enough. This works perfectly; it let's my monitor sit just above desk and the tilt joint is strong enough to keep it tilted perpendicular to the desk top. I did have to tighten the tilt screw with the supplied Allen key though.

Not good for portrait view monitors!
Not that happy with this stand. If you're going to claim it can fit LCD monitors up to 25" in size AND then also claim it can rotate so the monitor can be viewed in landscape or portrait positions (I needed it for portrait view). Then it might would be nice for it to actually be able to do BOTH!It is way too short to view my 23" monitor in portrait view. I managed to get it to barely fit but at more of an angle than I would like and also with the shaft of the stand not as secure as I'd like either. (top shaft is barely inserted into lower shaft, hope it doesn't fall out...)Decent build quality and the base is nice and heavy but it just doesn't adjust very much at all in terms of height. The other thing is that to secure the pivoting head the instructions say to "remove plastic cover" from one side where there's an allen screw you can tighten. Thing is that I can't get that plastic cover off no matter what I try to pry it with. Now it's all scratched up and crappy looking and the head is still loose.

Poor engineering.
Bought this to use with an LED TV as a computer monitor. Holes line up per the VESA interface standard, but the screws for a flat back were to long (they seated with about an eight of an inch of slop. The longer screws and stand-offs for a curved monitor back were also too long. I was able to get it installed by cutting the stand-offs in half using a bandsaw. If you don't have a bandsaw, you may have to find shorter screws. Also, you have to take a cap off the back (on the opposite side from what is shown in the instructions) and use an allen wrench (provided) to adjust the tilt. If you adjust your tilt very often, this is a pain that could have easily been avoided with some better engineering (like the addition of a T- or Star knob).

Great space saving replacement
This stand was a life saver when it came to replacing a ridiculously huge stand that came with my new computer monitor. Like many reviews state, the tilt screw is covered by a cap and even with tightening it, one bump and the screen can tilt. But for its compact size and sturdy base, this stand will work perfectly fine for my set up. It easily holds my 27” curved MSI monitor

Bought this as a returned item to save a few bucks. Item was described as "package damaged." OK, I could live with that, but it was apparent that someone had assembled it, had a hard time adjusting it and damaged the finish on the base. Screws were out of packaging and missing, with one of the base screws and all of the VESA mount screws missing. Fortunately, I had extra VESA mount screws from another project. The height adjustment does not work. It feels as if the previous person that touched it jammed it into the base tube. Since I was able to adjust it up just enough to complete my project, I chose not return the item. If you are not experienced or handy enough, pay full price.I think that this is probably a superior product brand new, but don't buy used.
