Not Dual Link for an HDMI source
This female HDMI to male dual link DVI-D adapter is not as described. While I expect it will work with a dual link DVI source and an HDMI display, the adapter functions as an HDMI to single link DVI-D adapter when using an HDMI source. I am only able to get 1920x1080 resolution on my 2560x1440 display. I am able to drive the full 2K resolution by using the HDMI port on the display directly rather than through the adapter, so the problem surely is the adapter. After researching the problem, it is apparent that several active converters are needed to convert an HDMI source to dual link DVI. There appears to be no such device on the market. Regardless, if you need to an adapter for greater than full HD resolution from an HDMI source, do not buy this adapter.

Does not support resolutions higher than HD (1920x1080)!!!!
This adapter, despite the claims posted here - definitely does ***NOT*** support anything higher than HDMI (1920x1080) resolutions. This despite being attached to multiple monitors and cables (that all worked just fine at higher resolutions when not connected to this adapter).Normal HD resolution and lower work perfectly fine (no artifacts, ghosting, dots, etc.) so its unlikely that the adapter itself is defective - it simply doesn't support > HD. If you just need a normal DVI-D to HDMI converter it will, of course, fill your needs at HD or lower resolutions.Model reviewed here is: B00MCSMVYG.

Isn't doing dual link for me...
I had been using my HP LP3065 30" monitor with my old computer using a Dual link DVI-D cable at the full 2560x1600 resolution. I built a new computer and was planning on using the integrated UHD 630 graphics for a few months until I bought a new graphics card. When used on my 4K TV via HDMI I saw/utilized the full resolution of the 4K TV. Using that same HDMI cable which had no problem at 4K with this adapter to connect to the HP monitor and I am only able to achieve 1280x800. The only conclusion I can come to is that this adapter does not use dual link DVI -- at least when converting from an HDMI source. For the time being I have resorted to using the 9 year old nvidia quadro p2000 with my dual link DVI cable and avoiding using this adapter. 2560x1600, no problem going that route.

Don't bother if you want 4k
First, the item that I received was not as pictured. It had metal thumbscrews rather than plastic. I actually wanted plastic. Second, the title and the packaging claimed these were DVI-D dual-link, but that is a false claim. I could not get 4K resolution out the other end using a proven 4k HDMI cable. Using a straight DVI-D dual link cable without these HDMI adapters and 4k worked fine. So, if you want 4K, don't waste your time with these

Does NOT do 2560X1440!
I tried this on a few different systems. I originally bought it to use DVI to HDMI with two monitors (I bought two) to have both using the DVI-D out to HDMI for two monitors with, each with a resolution of 2560X1440. We tried different HDMI cables, tried with a XFX R9 390 8GB video card and a PowerColor Red Dragon Vega 56, but it wouldn't allow me to use anything higher than 1920X1080. If I use the actual HDMI and Diplay ports on the cards, I can set the resolution to 2560X1440 and using a direct DVI-D to DVI-D cable, 1440 is selectable. This seller also seems to be incredibly slow on their refunds! They received the return back on March 25th 2020 and I still have yet to receive my refund on March 31st 2020.

This is not dual-link DVI-D.
#1. When I got this adapter, it was DVI-I, not DVI-D. Removed the analog pins to make it DVI-D.#2. When paired with an HDMI 2.1 compliant cable that has Ethernet in it, the highest refresh rate it is showing is 75 Hz. The monitor being used is 144 Hz Acer gaming monitor, and was at 144 Hz when using DVI-D on our older 4 GB Radeon adapter. The upgraded 8 GB Radeon card fully supports high refresh rates, and works properly when connected to a different monitor that supports HDMI 2.1 using the compliant cable. This makes me to believe that even though the pins on Fullink adapter shows dual-link, I suspect that the pins in the middle are not wired. Very disappointed. For this being just a bit over $5, it's not worth it for me to process a return/refund.

Saved me a bundle
This little adapter allowed me to connect my new HDMI monitor to my old PC. Although it took a bit of persuading to configure the old graphics card, the results are truly impressive.Until the PC is retired and sent to the great bit-bucket in the sky, this little adapter has made it possible to replace my old monitor and extend the usefulness of the PC until I can afford a new one.

Didn't work for my purpose, also broke quicklly
I had a dell monitor that accepted 2K video input through DVI-D and display port, but only 1080P through HDMI. Since HDMI and DVI-D are essentially the same at the video level, I figured this should be able to output 2K video through the DVI-D input of the monitor. I have gotten 2K 60Hz on different monitors through HDMI without a hitch. This "trick" failed to work however. I was able to get a 2K 30Hz signal (which was a little painful), but not 2K 60Hz. At any rate, if you are trying to trick a system into giving you better resolution, these may not be able to provide it.Another thing, it wasn't long before the connection only worked when the wire was positioned JUST RIGHT, and then soon after that not at all. Both of them. These are cheaply made, which is why I gave them a decisive 1 star.
