Made in the USA..Amen!.
Finally! Made in the USA, great quality, works fantastic with little effort, looks shiny and bright. Did I say it works fantastic?! It is effortless to operate and doesn't stop opening in the middle as my old one did. My trusty old Swing Away is over 20 years old and kept messing up 2-3 times when opening even small cans. I was going to buy a new one in that brand, however, then I read all the reviews on this product! I saw that many folks had bought new Swing Aways and they didn't last and work like the old ones, so I decided to try this one. I wanted to buy USA and my kitchen is red accents. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THIS CAN OPENER. Buy it from his company! It arrived so fast, I was shocked when I found it in my mailbox!

Disappointed
Disappointed, rough metal burrs on the edges of the metal, obviously company did not de-burr the product after it was stamped out, too bad, i always try to buy made-in-USA whenever I can

Great tool to make a can of something say your name
Got this mostly because "Made in USA". Pretty heavy duty and I haven't had any problems at all. Kind of on the more expensive side for a can opener, but this is a case where you get what you pay for. I suspect this can opener will be around for a long time, long after a lot of other kitchen utensils have bit the dust.

The best opener. Period.
We were buying cheaper openers and getting frustrated when they had trouble opening csns. We bought this one and you could feel the difference right away. This is solidly built. Real steel. Works like a champ. And it's made in America! You'll only need one, but buy two (one for the camping box). The best!

and I expect it to last like the ones I bought from Swing-a-Way prior to 2007
When Swing-a-Way sold out to China a few years ago, John J. Steuby bought the American tool sets and continues the American manufacturing of this venerable can opener, and I expect it to last like the ones I bought from Swing-a-Way prior to 2007. More as I know it.Update 8/28/14The Steuby began to malfunction about a month ago, becoming increasingly hard to turn, and yesterday seized completely. The handle simply won't rotate. I put my American made Swing a way from the early '90's next to it for comparison purposes, and the materials appear to be identical. My original Swing a way is rusted from years of use, but continues to work perfectly. In fact the reason I bought the Steuby EZ-DUZ-IT was because the original has discoloration from years of use. It is now back in action, while I contact Steuby to see if they can tell me what component failed, and if they will replace it.Reviews on this site show overwhelming satisfaction with this device and a handful reporting a lemon. I have changed my rating from 5 stars to 1 and will re-evaluate once I see how customer service handles my problem. It's a 9 dollar item, but I am pursuing this on principle. Again, more as I know it.

Very Good After 1 Year
I am impressed, it still going strong after having for a year. I don't use it daily, I would maybe once a month, but it still feels really strong and sturdy. I like it when made in the USA means something.
