Blind Trust is Part of a Unique and Exciting Series!!
Blind TrustSandra OrchardBook Summary: Kate Adams had no idea she was carrying counterfeit money, and she can't believe that it came from her sweet neighbor. Or that it lands her in the middle of another one of Detective Tom Parker's investigations. Determined to prove her neighbor's innocence, Kate stumbles into a pit of intrigue that is far deeper than a two-bit counterfeit operation--and strikes too close to home for comfort. As family secrets come to light, her world--and her budding romance with Tom--begin to crumble. To Kate, it's clear that she won't be safe until she uncovers all of Port Aster's secrets. But is it too late for her and Tom?Review: Very suspenseful and well written. Even though this was a sequel to Deadly Devotion it was still readable as a stand alone. There was some spoilers throughout the book, but not enough to keep me from reading the first in the series someday. I found the storyline to be interesting. There was a lot going on throughout the story but I never felt like things were so scattered that they couldn't be resolve in the last 30 minutes of reading the book. It is nice to see the immediate things resolved. There were times that I was on the edge of my seat and a bit jumpy due to the events occurring in the book. I love the thrill of the suspense and the characters were original and likable. The secondary characters and some surprises kept me going to the end. I am looking forward to the next book in the Port Aster Secrets series.I would like to thank Net Galley and Revell for allowing me to read and review this book in return for a free copy and I was never asked to write a favorable review by anyone.

This is a fabulous mystery/suspense novel!
It was great getting back to Kate Adams and Tom Parker. I loved getting to know them in the first book in this series. Their story continues in this book. This is a series that you HAVE to read in order for it to make sense. Many of the secondary characters that are also introduced in book 1 reappear in this book. There are a few new characters that we meet in this novel though. I really enjoy the details that Sandra Orchard gives about her characters. It is very easy to think of them as flesh-and-blood people rather than fictional characters. There are a variety of personalities and quirks included in the cast of this book.As this story progresses there are glances back to the first book and the danger that Kate was in during that story. The question comes up briefly as to whether this new mystery and danger are actually connected to that story or just a coincidence. At the same time there were some questions that came up during the first novel, but not resolved, that resurface and more information about them is revealed. It is a wonderfully well written story and drew me in so thoroughly that I finished it in 2 days. I am looking forward to reading book 3 and finding out how everything is resolved. Hopefully Kate and Tom will get their happily-ever-after.

BLInd Trust
This book starts out with Kate having a nightmare. She recently had a heart transplant and the donor had been murdered. Shortly after that, Kate was charged with passing a counterfeit $10 gill. She works doing research, and her father was arrested years before and charged with a false accusation from the drug company. He was killed in prison. Kate's mother had their last name changed to protect the 2 of them. The book continues with intrigue - she has a stalker, she and Tom, the detective have feelings for each other, then a huge surprise "ending" but it doesn't really end. I dislike books that don't come to a conclusion, and mostly a happy one. The ending was like a soap opera that ends with a "cliff hanger". Now i need to find the next book to see how it ends, so I would say, don't read this book unless you also have the next book in hand.

Blind Trust
This was a very good follow up to Deadly Devotion! This is the second book in the Port Aster Secrets trilogy. This story picks up shortly after the previous one. This time Kate gets caught up in a local counterfeiting scandal that seems to have something to do with her sweet elderly neighbor Verna. Of course Detective Tom Parker picks up this case! There are many other things that happen in this book with a huge surprise as well! Very well done, and I can't wait to see what happens in the finale and especially what happens with Tom and Kate's budding romance! This one's a keeper!

SUPER 2ND BOOK IN THE SERIES!
Sandra Orchard's second book in the Port Aster Secrets series is a winner! I liked Blind Trust better than Deadly Devotion. Excellent writing combined with expert plotting created a fast-paced book with many twists and turns. There are a few sub-plots which do not detract from the story. If anything, they make Blind Trust even better. Do read Deadly Devotion first to get the full grasp of what is going on. Off to read Desperate Measures . I can't wait to discover how this suspenseful series ends. Happy reading!

heart pounding!!!
My heart was pounding when I finished the book.. All I could think about was I NEED the next one now! You will be glued to your seat and your eyes may blur but you won't put the book down-- you have to finish-- it is that good!! The story takes you on a roller coaster of a ride and just when you think you have it figured out-- wham-- another twist and turn appears. This is the 2nd book in the series and if you haven't read the first I suggest you clear your calendar and read book 1 and 2 back to back.. Your heart will be pounding and you will be shouting for more!!! Write fast Sandra-- I need the next book!!

I have to read the third one to get real ending.
Clean, Interesting story. laugh-out-loud moments. Kate needs to get over her trusts issues with Tom. He put up with 'investigating' and even willing to help her in this second book, bu she still throws him to the curb when he makes one mistake. Aren't Christians supposed o have a forgiving attitude? Still a little unbelievable. You know the mystery man quickly, especially after the color of his hair is mentioned. The ending didn't appease once again, but since I liked the series so much so far, i will go ahead and read the third installment. Hopefully, there will be a real ending. Still some loose ends from book 1 not solved, or even mentioned.

Another compelling read
Blind Trust is book 2 in the Port Aster Secrets series, and if you jump in here you'll understand all you need to know, but I highly recommend starting at the beginning with Deadly Devotion. This is not a book to read at bedtime, because Sandra Orchard is too good at motivating readers to turn "just one more page." The tension is high, in part due to Kate's tendencies to seize whatever opportunity she sees to get to the bottom of the mystery. That's the thing about Kate: she has a big heart, and she acts before she thinks. Which is why Detective Tom Parker has such a hard time keeping her safe.Canadian author Sandra Orchard has delivered another compelling read, blending a solid plot with complex characters, and leaving readers waiting for the next book in the series.[Review copy from my personal library.]

Great mystery with a liberal dose of suspense
As the author's disclaimer says, Bind Trust is best read as the second book in the series. Having said that, it does read well as a standalone, however obviously acts as a spoiler to the mystery in the first book. I think Orchard has created a new genre...suspestry? Or myspense? A suspense/mystery hybrid. :-) Whatever you want to call it, this is a page-turning read. The author's detail-oriented, steel-trapped mind is scary! How she keeps everything straight as she weaves the current plot and overall series arc together is beyond me. I'm just glad she does! Honestly, my mind was reeling by the end of the book. And the end? Sob, more of a cliff hanger! Kate and Tom are back dancing around a relationship. One step forward, two steps back. That's all right, I know they are destined for each other. Can't wait until the next book to follow their romance to it's rightful conclusion. If you like a good mystery with a liberal dose of suspense and dashes of humour and light romance then Blind Trust is definitely the book for you!
