Great Kitchen Appliance
This is a good quality appliance - and in spite of the price - I think it is well worth it. Its made by a company that builds "restaurant" crepe machines - and they have got it figured out.Its great for when you have company over (especially with kids) who love to construct their own crepes. The thermostat setting on 3-4 is perfect and it heats up within a couple minutes. It comes with the little "wood" instruments to spread the batter - and to flip it over. There is also a little receipe book with a lot besides crepes (tortillas, etc..)The only accessory that did not work well was the plastic "spreader" that is suposed to run in the grove around the edge of the griddle. Its supposed to deposit an even layer of batter, but perhaps it only works with thicker batter. With crepes that are fairly liquid - hmmm not so much.A friend of mine has the same machine - and she makes crepes every week with this - and lots of them - she's had it a couple years and its holding up really well. I think its worth it ... give it a try.

Perfect size, Simple Operation
We bought this for our daughter's 10th birthday - she picked up a love of crepes on a recent trip to Canada. The 13" size is perfect for home use: not too much of a serving but large enough for ample stuffing. The diameter is just within her range - I think the 16" would have been an uncomfortable reach over the hot surface. The Tibos cooks evenly, the crepes lift off with ease, and the whole thing is quick and easy to clean. We started off with the easy spreader and flat spreader but I agree with other reviewers that the round style spreader is the way to go - ended up ordering one. Watching the Krampouz YouTube video was a big help in getting started - a light, smooth touch with the spreader is the best approach. As for my ten year old, she still needs more practice making the crepes, but the easy spreader has helped, and she loves creating dessert crepe creations for friends and family.5-YEAR UPDATE: The Tibos is still going strong after five years of regular use. Batches of crepes a few times a month and the now 15-year old is using this as a griddle for pancakes etc. because it is light and easy for her to handle - our dual element griddle weighs a ton.As said before, the #2 setting is the magic number for 'right' temp and the machine still produces consistent, even heating across the surface. I ditched most of the tools, and picked up a Mastrad All-Purpose 13-Inch silicone Turner (awesome for crepes) and a 5-pack of dowel style spreaders for around $16. I find that once the edges of the dowel start flaring from cleaning in-between spreads, I need to put it aside and grab a fresh spreader. They go back to proper form once cleaned and dry, but flat dowels are key to spreading. If I eventually need to replace the crepe maker, I'll resist the urge to jump up to a commercial machine and get another one of these. The light weight/ease of use has become an important factor.

Love this crepemaker
Love this crepe maker!! For home use, this one can't be beat. Don't bother using the wedge batter tool; I like my crepes thinner and this tool did not work well. The 2-piece spreader needs to be a little longer. I purchased a better one from Amazon. The recipe book is not as helpful as I would have liked so I bought an additional one from Amazon that had great recipes.Pros: Nice size. Haven't burned a crepe yet! (but don't set the heat higher than 3) Easy clean-up, easy to use. Price was okay.Love the spatula included.Cons: Recipe book is limited. Spreader isn't wide enough. Triangular batter tool doesn't work well and makes crepe too thick.Would love to have a professional crepe maker but this one certainly does the job well for home use. Crepes cook uniformly and quickly. Would buy it again.

Fool-Proof crepes
Seriously foolproof. Much easier than trying to make crepes in a pan. The secret to making crepes in a pan seems to be to use enough butter that they don't stick. Which makes them super tasty, but pretty unhealthy. And it still isn't foolproof. Half the time I end up with a burnt mass of butter and batter that needs to be cleaned off before proceeding.Meanwhile, this Crepe Maker only requires a little oiling and the crepes easily lift off and flip. My advice would be to not bother with the plastic spreader unless your recipe is very thick. A thinner recipe will just sit there and you really need to use the wooden scraper to do your spreading.Great product.

It was a great crepe maker while it worked
It was a great crepe maker while it worked. But just a few months after we got it, it stopped heating.. something this price should last longer.
