I've been shopping for a few of these tools to keep stashed in our family's cars. Most similar hammer/cutter tools are 2-3 times the size and weight (and cost), which keeps them from being stored in a convenient location (e.g. glovebox) should disaster strike. Such a tool is useless if it's not within arm's reach when the car starts to sink and seconds count. Anyways, I ordered this tool from SSP hoping that the smaller size didn't compromise quality. Once I received the tools, the high level of quality was clear. The handle is thick and provides a good grip, and the hammer is top-heavy enough to provide more than adequate momentum to break a window. I also like that the pointed end has a protective silicone cover and that the opposite end is flat for clearing out glass (a feature unique to this tool). The blade is also incredibly sharp and thick, and the reflective sticker on the side of the hammer makes it easy to find in dark conditions. Overall I am very pleased with the features and quality of this tool and the price cannot be beat.I also had a good experience dealing with SSP. I had experienced a minor ordering issue and the same day I received a personal email from SSP apologizing and correcting the issue. This went far beyond my expectations and has made me happy with the product and service alike.

This is a nice, solid and compact tool that will fit in most glove compartments or center consoles that are big enough to house a sunglasses hardcase. To put the weight into context, it's about as much as a full veinte cup of drip coffee. People who wear size large gloves may find the handle too small.I went to a salvage/auto recycler yard to test the device out and it works very well.It sliced through all three test seatbelts and works best if you pull your arms with moderate force in opposite directions sitting in your car seat (like you would in real life) but works okay if you had to free a passenger.It breaks door glass if you swing at it or place shoulder nudging force on it.It easily will slice through kid car seat straps too.Overall, it's a great in-case tool to have. For me, I wanted a tool that can cut seatbelts including those of a kid's car seat just in case there was a car fire where those seconds count to get everyone out of harm's way.

I'm going to give this 5 stars. Why the hesitation? Because this is one of those products you really can't test very easily or cheaply, and is not something you want to have to use unless you're in a very serious situation. I give it high ratings on the fact that it is a solid product that is easy for anyone to operate without having to read instructions (you don't need to practice for emergencies, it's obvious how to use), the main components are easy to access in the event of an emergency, it has bright markings making it visible in poor lighting conditions, and for the price you get two in one package- ideal for owners of two cars.

Certainly I can't write a review about how effective this product is without actually using it to break a window or cut a seatbelt, which I hope never to have to do. However, the quality and weight of the hammers is very substantial, and they are small enough to fit in the center console of both our cars, making them easily accessible if needed in an emergency situation for ourselves or for other drivers or passengers on the road. I feel safer and better prepared knowing they are there if needed.

It is well-made, solid enough to do the job intended. I haven't used it yet but I am impressed by the quality and I do plan to test it. I will order several more as I would like family members to have access to this life-saving tool. Also appreciate the 2-pack which gives me more bang for my buck when I have quite a few family members to buy for.

It's hard to write a review on something I haven't had to use yet, and I hope never to! Feels well made, fits in my hand well. I'm going to purchase a couple more for relatives.

Amazing customer service! I received one window breaker instead of the two pack I ordered. As soon as the company learned there was a problem, they reached out and solved the issue right away. Even though it was late at night! Very impressed. The window breakers are sturdy and seem to be very good quality. I feel our family is much safer having these window breakers in our cars now.

Great for safety. One in the door pocket and one in the glovebox, just to be able to find one.No lake driving. I got hit from behind jamming all the doors and the fuel coming from the tank. That was too close
