I use this for meat on the Daniel fast. It’s literally just tvp. No additives or preservatives. It makes good chili.

Okay - so I will start with one gripe - the expiration date is only about four months out and that's really not a long timeframe for ordering multi-packs of a food item. I hope that the company will address this. I'm willing to go out a few months beyond the expiration date, but still....These textured bits of non GMO soy flour have no added ingredients and virtually no sodium. I just used them to make a vegetarian meatloaf and they worked out beautifully. I added hot water to them and allow them to soak for a short period of time. I've also used them to make chili along with canned beans.These soy crumbles are high in protein and fiber, so they make a good meat substitute with the added benefit of fiber. Every time we've eaten the meat loaf made with these soy crumbles, oats and eggs for a meal (recently for breakfast a few times!), I've been full for hours! They'd be great for camping trips because they'd be lightweight to pack. I'd definitely use spices, herbs, garlic, onion, smoked paprika, Worcestershire sauce, etc. to liven them up! They wouldn't be very tasty on their own. Here are the nutritional contents for one 1/2 cup (30g) serving: 2g fat, 2mg sodium (0%), 10g carbohydrate, 7g fiber, 2g sugar (naturally occurring, no sugar added), 14g protein, and there is a whopping 4mg of iron or 24% of the daily food value of iron. These non-GMO soy crumbles are made in Zambia. Hope this helps!

These strips are delicious; high quality, versatile and easy to use. I rehydrated some in chik'n broth, then sautéed them with onions, chiles and garlic to stuff enchiladas topped with verde sauce and vegan cheese. My omnivore friend whom I invited to dinner was amazed that the meal was meat and dairy free. These can easily be used to substitute for poultry, pork or beef depending on what you choose to rehydrate and/or marinate with.I was unimpressed, however, that my package's expiration date was only 3 months out from when I ordered it. That's hardly enough time to use up all five packages--I rotate plant-based proteins including tempeh, soy crumbles, tofu, and the occasional Beyond/Impossible meatz for my weekly meals. The expiration date should be at least a year out!

Product arrived with less than three months remaining before expiration. Product was listed as "unreturnable" but I did a chat session and was able to get a refund. Edit: I would like to add that upon use, I was very happy with the performance of the product. I liked the chewiness/bite of the soy strips and the cereal like/soy taste was less than other products I have tried. I thought I would be stuck with expired product but it looks like I will be able to consume at least the majority of it by the expiration date. I will also plan to try the soy crumbles in the future.

I have used ‘soy curls’ (different vendors call them different things) and these are the best I have had - by FAR. First, the pieces are a little larger than the typical TVP product, and actually physically resembles chicken. It is so easy to just hydrate them and use them like you would chicken slices/shreds. You can hydrate them in water, or you can hydrate them in veggie or chicken broth if you prefer (and can add any other seasoning you might want when you are hydrating them). Once hydrated, just drain and use like chicken in stir fry, chili, or however you want. The consistency is also very similar to chicken as well. Overall, as far as the ease of use, the quality of the product, and the taste/consistency this is a winner. BUT… on top of that the price is absolutely phenomenal - seriously, 5 bags for $15??? Unheard of if you are familiar with the other similar products on the market. So, in addition to it being a great product in terms of usability/taste, the value is outstanding. An absolute 5 star rating!

I do not eat meat and use this to make a vegetarian "meat sauce". It was a large amount to buy at once so I put it in the freezer to store for a longer period and it is fine. I am going to make "meatballs" tomorrow with it. It is also great for making vegetarian chili and sloppy joe's too. Highly recommend!

I've never been a soy protein fan for years until I did my research. I first realized that the burger patties from Impossible or Beyond Meat were not as healthy as we think they are. Plus, it comes from verifiable sources in Zambia (in Africa) and their process is informative and you can find lots of research about their product.Finally, after I got the Soy protein, I decided to follow the simple instructions that take less than 10 minutes to make and throw it into some pasta-- delicious!I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and love knowing that I can eat something healthy and get my protein fix for a really great price!Love the product!
