It looks cool.
I typically just use the KMC 410 series chains, and have been very happy with them.Recently I rebuilt a KInk BMX bike, and due to the tire choice I made needed a chain with a bit more adjustability. So. I figured I’d try a half-link.Now. Personally. I have always thought half-link chains looked WAY more snazzy than a standard chain, I’d just never tried one. Pulling it out of the box, I really DO like how they look.Anyway. I took the time to read (or at least scan) the little ‘how to’ leaflet for installation since this was my first time with this type chain...I removed the old chain, measured the new 710 chain for length and grabbed my chain tool.Shortening the chain was super-easy, just like a ‘normal’ chain. Then I grabbed the ‘bullet pin’ to put the new chain together and after like two (2) twists, the little bullet thing popped apart. I was sad. While this is the first chain of this type I’ve worked with, this is NOT my first time using a chain tool. I like to think I’m at least somewhat competent.Anyway. Mistakes can happen, and MAYBE I just didn’t have the chain/tool lined-up perfectly straight. Who knows? The leading ‘guide’ of the pin went in perfectly & completely through - so I think I had everything lined-up properly. Again. Maybe I wasn’t perfectly aligned.I ended-up messing about with with several other tools and finally got the pin into the link - but I’m not at all confident it will endure any sort of hard use/pressure.I may order another chain & try it again because it did allow me to get the chain length accurate for my set-up.

Tricky to work with but otherwise good
Had some trouble initially with installing this chain. My chain tool was just barely big enough to work with the master pin sticking out. Then the master pin broke and jammed when half way in. I thought I'd have to return it but then I managed to pop the pin out with my chain breaker and then with the spare links add a link with a pin partially out and ready to push in. Pushing the pin in took some finessing. Unlike other chains I've worked with it's not as simple as just pressing it in and calling it done. First time I tried that all the plates were squished together tight and couldn't move freely and each end of the pin stuck out more than usual. I had to press the pin in using the outside lane on the tool that provided backing to the one plate as the pin pushed into it, and once the pin made it through that plate far enough, switched the chain to the other lane on my tool with no backing so the pin could continue pressing in the other plate without everything compressing together. It was tricky but I got it working and I'm pretty happy with it. The half link design let me get my wheel as close to the seat tube as possible, which has provided a little finer control with wheelies on my fixed gear. I may try installing a master link though so maintenance will be easier.

Use it whole or break it up - a great deal either way.
Great half link chain for under $15! As a bike shop mechanic, KMC chains are the standard; there's better stuff out there for customers who need it, but for 99% of all riders, KMC delivers the best combination of performance and cost. If you're going for the "all half links" look, that's one thing, but a BIG bonus for mechanics here is that just one half-link chain is enough to make dozens of (much cheaper) standard single speed chains fit correctly.

So far so good!
So far I’m really liking this chain. It’s definitely beefier than the 410 model although that is also a great chain. I like the micro adjustments that can be made with half link chains. Plus they look cool. It’s a fraction of the cost of my Cult half link chain and feels just as good. We’ll see how well this holds ho to the abuse.

Seems high quality, no instructions
I might up it to 5 stars after I put some miles on it to check durability as others have warned about it. Did not come with instructions. I followed another reviewers idea and didn't push the pin all the way out of the link I removed so that I could reuse the pin and install with a pocket tool. Install was simple and easy for me

Strong durable chain !
Before buying this product I read alot of reviews saying the chain snaps because the cotter pin is to thin, but i purchased the chain anyway. I didn't use the master pin it came with, just installed it the way you would put on a normal chain. Ive had the chain for about a month and ive had 0 problems with it. I really recommend this chain if your looking to upgrade from your old full link.

Basically indestructible.
A very good chain. I'd bought this intending to use it on my bmx, which has an older (but still good) KMC Drop-buster chain on it. I instead decided to use it on my Peugeot moped, because it just looked way too good installed on there.I've always bought KMC chains. The only time I didn't, the chain I did buy broke in a week and whipped up into the back of my leg.Be smart, learn from my mistake, and just buy a KMC chain.

This thing is horrible.
What a piece. I just got mine in today and already hate it. My park chain breaker bent the link I was pushing the pin out of so I had to straighten it as good as possible. I put in the bullet pin in and broke the excess off per the instructions. Spun the crank a few times and it fell apart. Awesome. So I tried to put one of the regular pins back in and it looks like it's going to blow apart whenever I put pressure on it, can't wait to split my knee cap wide open on my stem when this thing fails. Do yourself a favor spend the extra on a shadow interlock.

No es la mostrada en la imagen
La cadena no es la k710 como lo muestra la imagen, si es de medio eslabon pero es la HL710

An understated custom look
KMC HL710L. The packaging photo makes it look like a standard chain in the box. It IS the half link chain as advertised. The length was just enough for my bike. I’ve got a 46t chainring and 16t cog and the rear wheel is just at the front of the dropouts. Plenty of room for stretch. Looks awesome on my fixie build.

Looks great, feels strong.
My old chain was getting “crunchy” so I replaced it with this. Definitely an upgrade. I’m running a fixed gear so this was perfect and long enough for my 46-15 on a 62 XL frame.Hundreds of kilometres later... no issues. Rock solid. The half links look sick!

Makes chain tension adjustment a breeze
getting tension right on the forward chain of my tandem has always been an issue with conventional chains, this half link chain makes setting things up so much easier.
