"..BRILLIANT CULT CLASSIC MONSTER MOVIE.."
PLOT...A doctor and his wife travel to Maine to research the impact of the lumber industry on the local environment. They begin to investigate a succession of mysterious and terrifying events: ecological freaks of nature and a series of bizarre and grisly human deaths. Something unimaginably horrible waits in the woods. Something unwittingly created by man, that will become an uncontrollable, merciless machine of destruction.Made in 1979 Prophecy is a fantastic horror gem, another long lost cult classic restored for Blu-ray, a great movie with a simple story that builds well with plenty action and violence, the movies effects for the time are fantastic, great practical monster and lashings of blood and some cool kills! The cast is all good here to with some solid acting, the soundtrack is great, a good tense score over the scary scenes. If you love old classic movies, certainly check out this obscure one, an amazing release from EUREKA.The Blu-ray has a great HD pictureFeatures are decent with 2 commentaries, 2 interviews (30mins total) trailers, tv spots, gallery.Region B, Running time 102mins, 1979/2021. PROPHECY BLURAY from EUREKA AUG 2021
This review is for the EUREKA BLURAY released Aug 2021. Filmed in Panavision this is a superb transfer with bars top and bottom, beautiful picture, clear and in terrific colour. Excellent sound (used well) with good subtitles. The accompanying booklet has an (incomplete) cast/credit list, fun stills and an essay. Well worth reading. I am somewhat of a yes/no fan of JF. Some of his films I truly rate (Manchurian Candidate/Young Savages/7 days in May and more). Quite where this one falls is hard for me to say. Glorious location filming in Canada. Excellent performences from Shire/Foxworth/Assante/Racimo and particularly Richard Dysart along with some good monster effects, and, a surprising 10 minute sequence showing off a real paper mill in action (fascinating to see the monstrous size of the enterprise), make this a worthwhile eco/horror film with a message - "Protect nature"!!!! Recomended as something a little bit different.

Sound idea for a movie, but just very dated
This film, although having legitimate environmental concerns at its core, is rather dated and hackneyed. Full of banalities and not worth the rental price for this kind of movie.

Brilliant
Really good condition and on time.

best after a beer or two
Really daft film, the human characters are so vile (unintended) that you end up rooting for the critters, good fun though
