Great value for the price
For the price, it is a great value. 1055 carbon steel is good enough for the job the axe is meant for but the question is the tempering. I recommend if you are on a budget for a medium sized axe and Hudson Bay form but if you want a better axe, spend the extra money and really get a better axe of the same length like; https://www.amazon.ca/Husqvarna-26-Wooden-Multi-Purpose-Axe/dp/B004WJGXAQ/ref=rtpb_14?pd_rd_w=i3RCB&pf_rd_p=164a4ce0-05d6-485d-91f8-34f2925e3c30&pf_rd_r=PF3WGAXWRP8J3KTFQR54&pd_rd_r=2e5914c6-2394-47e0-b66b-86b53b728e3c&pd_rd_wg=b6ZVV&pd_rd_i=B004WJGXAQ&psc=1

Amazing axe but here are some extera details.
This axe (Camp Axe) the one with the "quick change axe head" has a perfact shape on both the head and handle. The handle has an amazing finish. That being said this is a more technical axe. You need more tools to replace the handle due to the pin and screw location. This axe comes blunt and half finished on one side. I believe this is intentional but to finish it you would have to complete the grind on the half finished side. This axe is amazingly ballenced and that is probably because it comes across as more of a compotition axe. It is labeled camp axe but I would not hammer with it since it has a slit down the back as to be able to "quick change" the axe head. And the shape is extremely thin then bumps out around the handle once again coming across as more of a throwing axe than a chopping or splitting axe. The axe how ever is extremely light and sturdy and will probably chop fine but Im not sure it will split as easily as its counter part the trail boss. I love both axes but I belive this one may be slightly miss represented as an axe of convenience when in my opinion it is a more technical axe. Dont get me wrong it is a work of art but if you want a simpler axe to camp with I reccomend the trail boss over the "quick change" axe though the handle on the Trail Boss all though its the same hadle and quality it slightly less finished aka just their is less coating on it which in my opinion may be a good thing for a working axe and it is very slightly less ballenced as the axe head has a little more mass due to its fuller shape once again probably bonuses for a working axe.

Great camping axe
First shipping was fast even with this whole covid stuff going onSecond this is now my go to camping axe its light enough to pack in built well enough to chop up small trees and branchesThird the quick change ability sold me on this and it works as advertised 3 minutes you can go from a broken useless axe head to a useful axe againNow for the down sideIt's not a full size axe head so you will have a harder time finding replacement handlesIt is too small to use to chop anything bigger than a 5 inch diameter tree I wont be using it for downing trees anyway I'll be using it to chop up firewood in the back country

Dull, doesn't hold an edge and lightweight
So lightweight is not particularly favorable in an axe. This advertised as an all around axe but not really. It is more of a hatchet. Axe handle is ok, bit slippery but decent length and feel. I prefer a thicker less slick grip personally. The axe head has a narrow profile so you would think it would be designed to cut well but it doesn't mainly because it is way too light. If you go after any green material, trunk or branch you will bounce right off it unless you put your weight into it, which you shouldn't have to. So not a felling or arborist axe. Dry, dead campfire wood is another matter it digs in pretty well and although you could do better. Fairly easy to sharpen which also means very easy to dull. Dull on delivery, dull after every few swings. I didn't want to pay hundreds of dollars for a decent axe but if you want an axe for anything serious this isn't it. Ok for camping.

First day
Great fast swings. Problem is quick axe change ends up being quick axe break.Get a solid metal axe.
