ATO

I bought this item to help automate changing water in my nano tanks. There are pros and cons to it.Biggest pro is that having this system allows me to multi-task. The pump is pretty slow, and between draining & refill it allows me plenty of time to trim plants, clean glass, clean filter etc.Biggest con is that there is nothing in the system to prevent siphoning if unattended; water keeps draining after the pump turns off. For tank filling this is easy enough to solve with the addition of a check valve. For draining, I added a float valve to prevent my bucket from overflowing if I ever get too distracted, but I don’t know of anything that will make the water stop when the pump stops.Also, I had to return my first one because the sensors didn’t work. Haven’t had the second one long enough to test longevity otherwise.Tip: if you’re like me and prefer to keep items in their original package when storing, use this photo of it out of the box. They pack a lot into the bottom of the box.

I used this ATO for one week. Initial setup was simple and the first test and subsequent first fill went great..."Sweet this is gonna work"...Just kidding. The alarm sounded the first night @ 3:30am for reasons unknown at the time so I just unplugged it to stop the damn beeping. When I plugged the unit back in and listened to more beeping read the blinking light flow chart the unit is alarming for a dirty level sensor or glass. The sensor and tank glass are clean but still the damn beeping. I moved the sensor to another area and now all is well...I thought. The next night the pump added too much water and the alarm sounded for an over fill. 2 days later the alarm went off when I was at work and my wife was home alone. I just had her unplug it. Upon my return home I found that now the alarm was for a pump malfunction. I removed the pump and inspected it for debris or a stuck impeller. There was nothing obvious wrong with the pump so it was reinstalled and the power reconnected. Now the pump operates normally again. About an hour after the pump was issue was resolved the stupid beeping started again with the lights blinking for a dirty sensor again WTF. All of this in just 5 days of use. Was any testing of these systems done at all before selling them? What an annoying piece of junk.The whole reason we install these devices is to add stability and reliability to our systems. This product does nothing of the sort. It is just a finicky hassle to kind of maintain your water level for 12-18 hours at a time then beep at you for something else. This device is not reliable enough to use for any length of time.

Product worked fine for a week then the pump stopped working and blue light flashed and unit started beeping . ordered new pump they do not have replacement pump in their store. So now I have a 74 Dollar system that is worthless. They sent me another pump and so far it has been working great.

I bought this pump a few months ago. It was great while it lasted. Today, I came in to my water level lower than the sensor, and the power to the control had failed. I tried different outlets, and still would not work.Update: Customer service team was quick to replace the defective system. New one works as advertised with no issues. Highly recommend this ATO.Update: only lasts a little over a year, but you get what you pay for.

I have nothing but great things to say quality parts. Great value great customer service look nowhere else I did the homework for you.

I replaced my ATO top off system with this one. My old ATO used magnetic float switches that I have had to replace every few years. This new unit used optics. It works with my kalk mixture in the resivoir. It comes with a pump, flex hose, and angled sump mount. Well worth the price. I have a 90 gallon reef tank and it works great with my system.

I’ve tried many different kinds of ATO systems before trying this product and nothing has come close to it. The ease of install, the higher quality nature of the product and the fact it never once failed or showed any issues within the first few months tells a lot about how well designed it was. The block that holds the hose is a bit ugly, but it’s worth it considering every other ATO I’ve used has had non stop problems and constant parts replacement. I definitely recommend this product if you’re looking for an ATO you know you’ll never have to worry about, just do your best to hide the plastic block.

I have a AIO tank, which the back filter chamber is cover in black. The sensor for the ATO is actually the big electronic unit, and sensor is the glass in the back which it need "CLEAR GLASS" to see water level. I'm not about to ruin a $300 tank to make this work. Your better off to get another good brand ATO. Other than that, the hose holder is also bending the tube too.Pro: Easy to installCon: Everything else, if it works.Update: seller updated info.

Over filled my tank continuously, not impressed! Then it quit working and I contacted and have been put on ignore. I would not recommend at all

Beware this ATO needs light to work. One night it flooded my tank as the sensor couldn’t figure out when the tank filled up. Thankfully it happened on the second week of purchase and I was gladly able to return it.
