Envelop in magic
10/22... The ubiquitous Ruger miracle. I've enough of them to know that they are not precision built, and the chamber is a hit and miss at best. We're not talking VooDoo here. So yeah, this little laser is like an undersized bolt in the wrong size nut. You... get the picture...But what if (and I did) you put some sort of “condom” on it. At first, I thought I wrap it up in 5mil rubber glove (pinky) but that would have made it impossible to insert - too much friction. Then, I came across Scotch 3M Magic Tape - it's 2.5mil thick. So wrapping it around the boresight laser adds total of 5mil to diameter. And you know what else it does also? STAYS PUT IN THE CHAMBER LIKE NOBODY'S BUSINESS! The Magic tape's UPC is 34-8724-6004-2 - nothing fancy, just straight run of the mill (mil, sic) tape.Once I enveloped the laser in the tape, it fit snugly in all of my 10/22s (I'll keep the number to myself as not to reveal my 10/22 insanity). Tomorrow I'll also test it on the rest of my 22 buddies (The HKs, the Brownings, GSG, Mr. Henry, Wather, Winchester, the Savages, the Rossys, Heritage, Taurus, Blueline (Mauser), the Bergaras, the CZs and my two friends Mr. Smith and Mr. Wesson). Some of the CZs, Browning, Savages, maybe Mr. Henry and for sure one of the Bergaras are precision match chambered (bentz chamber), most likely, so in those cases, I'll take the tape off - got knows I have plenty of Magic Scotch tape.Anyways, prior to this little trick, I was seeing pretty much what every disgruntled reviewer of this little laser saw. But again, an under $500 10/22 is meant to "eat" most anything you through at it - don't expect a tight chamber. And Ruger's been known to set their stock firearms to the widest possible margin of compatibility (Mini14 anyone?)Bottom line, this laser gets me within 5” at 50’ and 3 at 25’ for guns. I can take them all to surgical precision, where possible, from there. So for under $30, yeah, sure, I recommend it. Even though with 22lr prices coming down to .04-5 you actually might have more fun just walking it in.. At any distances 😊

Great laser bore light!
Pretty cool device,,,didn't know it existed, works way better than the kind that stick in the end of the barrel. In my opinion, much more accurate.

A 22 bore sight that actually works.
This thing is almost perfect. The laser is very bright and make it very easy to site optics, peep sights or open sights on a 22 caliber rifle. When the laser is placed in the chamber, the fit is secure keeping the laser pointed in a perfect direction out the end of the barrel. The battery life has been great and the unit functions exactly as you would expect.I would like to have seen longer lead wires going from the battery to the laser. Being short makes it difficult to hold it in place while adjusting sights.

Good bore sight
Works just as expected. Finding a light for 22cal bore is not cheap but it works. They shipped fast but as usual USPS is not the fastest.

Useless for its stated purpose
Ordered the .22 variant, tried it in 4 different bores. In each and every attempt to use it, the point would stray as much as 2ft in any given direction at a modest ~40ft range. Loose in the bore, zero stability in-situ, not a viable means of alignment.

good bore sight
works perfect, no complaints.

A Decent Crutch for Semi-autos
This is a decently made little unit and, to be fair, can get your first shots on the paper at 50 yards but it takes some care to do so. The laser unit is a bit loose in the chamber and the protruding cord means there can be quite a bit of variation in where the laser points. I got the best results by using either the bolt or a chamber flag to firmly press the unit into the chamber which can be quite a trick to keep pressure on the laser while adjusting turrets. That said, I wouldn’t recommend this for anything other than semi automatic rifles simply because removing the bolt and visually boresighting down the barrel is more accurate if one’s able to do so.
