Exceptional ceremonial grade matcha with great taste
This is a quality ceremonial grade matcha. It has a nice earthy flavor that doesn't overpower. It's USDA organic and high in antioxidants. As you can see in the picture it's a nice green color (this one has been opened for a few weeks so it's oxidized a little bit but it was greener. I love that they provide some directions on the side of the can as well so that you don't burn the matcha. Overall, I highly recommend this. TLDR Pros: - USDA organic - quality ceremonial matcha - high antioxidants - directions for use conveniently located TLDR Cons: - would be useful to have caffeine content (not really a con; more of a suggestion)

Top 4 Matcha I've tried.
I’ve been recently trying different Matcha powders to see which one is right for me cost and quality wise, so I decided to do a little taste test, and this is my opinion on the 8 that I tested. Note that all are Ceremonial Grade except for Jade Leaf (Culinary Grade) which I’ve been using for cooking and smoothies but included it for comparing color. Cost: Kyoto Dew: $.83/gram Ippodo: $1.37/gram (BEST) Matchabar: $.99/gram Pure Chimp: $.29/gram (WORST) Kenko: $.33/gram Encha: $.65/gram Akira: $.83/gram Jade Leaf (Culinary Grade): $.19/gram Top 4: 1) Ippodo: Hands down the best Matcha I’ve ever tasted, but very pricey to use daily. Sweet, earthy, Intense and complex with an unmatched bright rich green color. This is a special occasion or limited use Matcha for me because of the price. 2a) Akira: The taste is remarkably close to Ippodo but not as complex and has a slight bitterness at the beginning. Sweet, earthy, floral, fresh and complex with a bright rich green color. 2b) Kyoto Dew: A particularly good Matcha that gives a strong herbal and sweet flavor with a subtle bitterness. Sweet, herbal, smooth and slightly complex with an incredible dark (Chlorophyll Dense) rich green color which I love. 3) Encha: A particularly good Matcha but lacks the high complexity of Ippodo and Akira. Mild bittersweet, earthy, nutty, smooth and slightly complex with a bright rich green color. Bottom 3: I didn’t include (Jade Leaf) because it’s Culinary Grade. 7) Pure Chimp: The worst Ceremonial Grade Matcha I’ve tasted. If this is in fact a true Ceremonial Grade Matcha, then it’s not a premium grade. The color, texture, aroma and flavor are on par with Culinary/ Cooking Grade with maybe a slight edge to Pure Chimp in color (see pic) and taste. The price also reflects this. It was by far the cheapest Ceremonial Grade I tested ($.29/gram) and it showed. I see no reason for someone to purchase this product. 6) Matchbar: A decent Matcha, but for the price there are plenty of better options out there (Akira, Encha, Kyoto, Kenko) are all cheaper and better. 5) Kenko: A decent Matcha, but it was very lite with some bitterness that lingered too long. Slightly sweet, grassy, mild bitterness and soft flavor with rich green color. This would be a good start for someone that has never tried Matcha or for someone looking for a softer flavor.

Superb quality, absolutely the best flavor, healthful energy
This tea is phenomenal. It has a profound calming effect whilst still providing a significant energy. I'm certain the amount of l-theanine ECGC and chlorophyll in this tea is high. There's enough caffeine to get my work done efficiently but no jitters like coffee. I had to switch from my espresso to matcha for health reasons and I can say with absolute certainty that it was one of the best health decisions I've made in my life. My blood pressure is much better and my heart rate is much more stable..The flavor and the aroma of this tea surpasses any other brand I've tried. I tend to be really sensitive to caffeine to the extent that I can't enjoy caffeinated beverages in the afternoon. I am able to enjoy this tea in the afternoon for an extra boost of energy and I can still get a good night's sleep. I just subscribed to receiving 200 g's of this matcha per month and there will be no more coffee for me, frankly I don't miss it and my body feels great. My only warning to you is that you may become very partial to this tea over other brands.

Decent everyday matcha
Great matcha for beginners! I'm an everyday matcha drinker and I buy a lot of the matcha on Amazon, matcha can run pretty pricey so I'm always on the lookout for cheaper matcha without having to sacrifice flavor, color and smoothness. Im quite pleased with the texture of this matcha, it's very smooth and the taste is tame and umami. The color is nice, not the greatest but quality is good for the price in my opinion. Overall I'd recommend this matcha to a beginner as its very easy to work with as well as having a pleasant taste that's not too strong flavor wise.

Matcha Lovers! You will love this one!
I saw 5 star ratings across the board for this Matcha, so I thought I’d give it a shot. I’ve tried many brands, but have never had any Matcha that could live up to a 5 star rating. This Matcha is fantastic. NO bitterness, beautiful green color, and lovely fragrance. So smooth, whisks and blends up well, and the best tasting Matcha I’ve ever had, and made in my own kitchen. I will subscribe and yes, give it 5 stars! Highly recommend!

Very weak flavor almost too bright green, not the typical matcha color
This is one of three brands of matcha powder I have tried recently. All about the same price and all "ceremonial grade". The other two had a much deeper richer flavor and color. I typically use a heaping teaspoon for my matcha lemonade and end up with a dark green flavorful cup of tea. This one I used almost 2 teaspoons and it still seemed weak and lacked body. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this one unless you are looking for a bright green, lightly flavored drink.

The best matcha.. I will continue to repurchase
I've never been a huge caffeine drinker but after moving to NYC, I knew I needed something to kick start my day. Even before the pandemic, I was making matchas in the office because of how great it made me feel, tastes so yummy and has so many nutritional benefits! I personally get very anxious when drinking coffee, it's so strong it can effect my sleep even if I drink it in the morning. Matcha is wonderful and easy for me to digest that I have no issues with it's caffeine content. Onto this matcha.. I've tried multiple brands from Amazon brands to Cha Cha Matcha brands and this one is THE BEST. I'm very picky about my matcha, I want it to be very green, fresh, full of flavor and definitely the finest grade. I also don't love when my matcha froths a ton and this one does NOT. You can really tell a difference between organic ceremonial and superior culinary/culinary. If you're picky like me, get this brand. It does NOT disappoint. I store mine in the fridge to keep it as fresh as possible. Here's my recipe: Perfect for a 6-8 oz drink: 1-2 tsp matcha powder (more if you like a stronger kick and flavor, for reference, starbucks gives you 3 scoops (6 tablespoons) of matcha in a grande... but I believe it's culinary grade and also full of sugar) 3-4 oz of milk of choice - I like oat milk with coconut creamer 1/2 cup of very warm water (to blend the matcha, not too hot) 1/2 tsp of vanilla extract Sweetner of choice (I like agave or sometimes no sweetner at all) Steps: 1. Sift matcha in very warm water (This is a gamechanger to get rid of clumps of matcha) in a separate bowl or glass (I find one that is bigger gives better space for the whisk to dissolve it) 2. Blend with either a bamboo whisk or electric whisk 30-60seconds 3. Assemble your glass, add ice, milk and vanilla 4. Top with matcha and enjoy!
