Enriching the Quality of Evaluation Services
Dr. Mor-Barak’s insightful book has provided me with new perspectives on organizations and how they work. As an evaluator of health and human services organizations, which includes assessments of lines of communication, collaboration across departments, transparency and decision-making processes, I am able to draw upon Dr. Mor-Barak’s models and cross cultural examples to inform my evaluation designs and methods. We are often called upon to assess activities within organizations that are ethnically and culturally diverse, and at other times, organizations that compositionally similar in terms of culture, race and ethnicity with a few staff that do not conform. In both situations, Mor-Barak’s book has informed my approach and enriched the quality of our evaluation services.

Applicable to my study focus
I am a doctoral student in social work studying the relationship between inclusive leadership and organizational success in community-based healthcare agencies. Managing Diversity has introduced me to several creative strategies for positively impacting health organizations, which is my study focus. It is fascinating to see the parallels between large global organizations and community-based health centers with regard to comparable leadership demands and scalable strategies that can be used to assess inclusion among members of the board of directors and management teams. I am impressed by the current research, data and examples that Dr. Mor Barak has chosen as in many ways they are universal examples that apply the corporate world as well as community-based organizations.

Very Informative!
As a young professional entering a career in management, this book delivered amazing insights to the barriers faced when creating an inclusive workplace – a value that I and others within organizations endorse. While the challenges are many and complex, the possible solutions offered strongly resonated with me and I believe are attainable. Furthermore, some of the examples seemed to be drawn from my personal experience, and I know that if I had read the book sooner, I would have had new strategies for addressing these not-so-uncommon problems. And, as a person of color, Mor Barak’s book also gives me new tools to mitigate inclusiveness challenges for myself and others.

Fit the class, not an enjoyable read
I found this text difficult to follow. It was for a class I was long forward to but the book was dry.
